Prologis is seeking a Construction Project Manager passionate about construction and eager to manage a large portfolio of Global Energy developments from design through construction and handoff to O&M. Prologis is currently ranked #3 among for onsite solar among US corporations and is expanding our commitment to renewables globally. With over 4,700 buildings owned around the world, the types of renewable projects you will help build will be innovative, meaningful and exciting. Our ability to build at scale is unmatched. You would be part of a top-notch team of Global Energy professionals and work closely with the groups who are building over 50MW of solar, storage and other energy solutions annually. Internally, you'll partner closely with local market officers, leasing officers, capital deployment teams, and on-the-ground customer-facing teams.
You will report to the Director of Project Execution, Global Energy. As our regional renewable construction expert, you will oversee, coordinate, and manage the vendors we work with who are responsible to build a portfolio of projects for Prologis. You will represent Prologis to ensure the work is consistent with our standards and drives value for our customers. This role requires experience building energy projects and knowledge or expertise in electrical, structural, and potentially civil work. This position offers an unparalleled ability to build the largest portfolio of commercial energy assets globally.
What's needed in order to do that:

  • Coordinate all construction related deliverables from engineering through the construction and commissioning including working with local internal teams, customers and vendors to ensure accuracy, completeness, and that the requirements of the project are met.
  • Oversee and coordinate with EPC partner as well as multiple subcontractors/installers
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of reporting that captures major project milestones and other key metrics
  • Proactively work to mitigate risks which may include determining when to lock in materials, when to store materials, early purchase of long lead items, etc.
  • Work with Prologis Utility reps to ensure timely interconnection and approval to operate
  • Manage construction related contracting, deliverables, and change order reviews, from project engineering through construction and commissioning
  • Research design and construction specifications, innovations, and value engineering opportunities that you will implement to enhance and futureproof Prologis' buildings without compromising functionality, value, or life cycle costs.
  • Interface and develop strong working relationships with various regional internal and external partners to assure risk factors have been evaluated, reviewed, and properly mitigated
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by ensuring proper coordination and communication takes place
  • Partner with local sales leads on energy proposals as needed to assist with construction / execution related questions including staging, safety, quality, schedule, etc.
  • Review and manage technical specifications, designs, scopes of work, commissioning reports and other energy related documents as well as reviewing and responding to Contractor RFIs.
  • Hire and manage design professionals, consultants, contractors, and vendors by managing the subcontractor buyout process (potential through conducting RFPs/RFQs of $1-20M) through development of scope, bidding process, award, and contract activities.
  • Ensure quality and safety standards and design specifications are being followed.
  • Supervise EPC contractors and vendor to confirm that the budget, scope, schedule, interconnection, AHJ, customer requirements quality and safety standards have been met throughout project execution.
  • Review/approve invoicing, lien releases, turnover documents, designs and other deliverables that are required as part of doing and paying for energy projects and ensure these documents are filed properly.

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Planning or Engineering (Electrical, Civil or Structural), strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience leading and managing construction projects preferably for a rooftop solar developer.
  • Knowledge of power purchase agreements, rooftop solar commissioning, and design-build agreements
  • Experience in managing complex multi-site portfolios, due diligence, contract negotiation, and international markets in the renewable energy industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation/mediation skills
  • Proven track record of project execution/construction success in the renewable energy industry.
  • Renewable energy, solar, storage, EV knowledge a plus
  • Experience with design / build contracts including EPC, PPA, O&M, MIPSA, etc.
  • Experience serving Fortune 100 clients.
  • Able to travel up to 40% of the time.
