About the job
The Red Hat Enterprise Apps Strategy and Transformation (EAST) team, a part of the IT department, is looking for a Change Management and Operational Readiness Consultant to join us and support operational readiness delivery for our growing cross-functional portfolio team. In this role, you will be focused on facilitating and managing the people-side of strategic and transformational changes introduced by some of our company's most disruptive, complex, and critical programs and delivering against our strategic pillars. You will be responsible for the design and delivery of operational readiness plans across multiple programs and at the portfolio level and increase employee and customer adoption of changes. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Assess and analyze the project and organization to assess the level of organizational change, including technological, process, operating model, and organizational elements
  • Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive operational readiness plans, which could include elements of stakeholder management, business readiness, communications, learning, and adoption
  • Work under the strategic leadership of the Portfolio Operational Readiness Lead to ensure thorough and consistent awareness around the portfolio readiness strategies and best practices
  • Closely collaborate and partner with the broader operational readiness, enablement, and communications teams for the delivery of plans and creation of deliverables globally and at scale
  • Identify strategies and tools to help remove roadblocks and continuously identify ways to ensure all stakeholders are receiving the information needed
  • Raise awareness of the benefits of change
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reporting, or statuses to ensure visibility and oversight of key deliverables
  • Maintain effective working relationships and provide timely updates and escalation; participate in governance meetings as requested
  • Monitor outcomes and impacts throughout the project and recommend improvements


What you will bring

  • 5+ years of operational readiness, organizational change management or related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6+ years of experience and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3+ years experience; or equivalent experience
  • Experience and knowledge of operational readiness principles, methodologies, and tools
  • Experience with enterprise portfolio management methodologies and approaches and large scale organizational change efforts
  • Ability to develop a operational readiness strategy based on a situational awareness of changes and the groups impacted
  • Ability to develop an actionable and targeted plan, including communications, sponsor plan, stakeholder management, learning, and adoption plan.
  • Ability to work with business stakeholders and drive alignment within operational readiness strategies
  • Great communication and prior familiarity working with high level stakeholders
  • Motivated and ability to work cross functionally


The following will be considered a plus:

  • Experience in large, complex global business transformation programs
  • PMP or change management certifications
  • Experience supporting a readiness strategy in sales, marketing, products and technologies (PnT), partners, finance, or IT
