About This Job
Commerce Bank is looking for a Business Line Project Manager I in Commercial Payments. The ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while streamlining similar tasks across projects for maximum efficiency is expected. The Project Manager will work across multiple business lines within the department as well as with individuals across the Bank. The ideal candidate will be able to build and foster relationships with individuals at all levels, including Senior and Executive management.
The Project Manager will have knowledge of commonly used project management concepts, practices, and procedures. The candidate will continuously strive to educate themselves on project management through continual online training and/or training provided by management. The candidate must have strong communication skills and a strong attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while streamlining similar tasks across projects for maximum efficiency is expected. The candidate will display a sense of urgency in meeting deadlines. The candidate will exhibit commitment and a sense of ownership by anticipating potential project delays and act to remove impediments.
Essential Functions
- Facilitate processes and procedures required to provide effective project management services to meet project commitments and deliverable for cross-functional teams
- Define project scope, develop business requirements, and assess resource availability
- Manage activities and tasks necessary to drive projects to completion and ensure project objectives are met
- Develop project documentation in accordance with the defined project methodology, facilitate team meetings, monitor risks and issues, and provide proactive communication to the business stakeholders
- Provide day-to-day oversight of resources, communicate team member assignments, provide feedback, and build relationships
- Monitors and escalates risks and issues, as appropriate
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge Skills & Abilities Required
- Basic knowledge of the project management field
- Ability to work with a diverse set of resources and cross functional business and technical teams
- Strong leadership skills, with ability to track, monitor, and drive project activities in an environment with competing priorities
- Analytical problem solving and decision-making skills, with proven ability to lead through influence
- Strong executive presence and the ability to think strategically and provide thought leadership
- Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

- Experience working with multiple business areas

- Ability to deal with ambiguity and decipher what is needed
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments with minimal disruption

- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 2+ years project management experience required
- Experience successfully managing Agile and Waterfall projects and/or programs required
- Experience managing projects within the banking industry preferred
