Job Description

The AVP PMO will be responsible for directing and overseeing the organization's portfolio of IT programs and projects, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the customer or stakeholder This position will also be reponsible for various methods and practices around provisioning IT into the business, improving the overall PPM maturity across the IT organization, and tracking and reporting the conformance to plans and expectations of IT-oriented initiatives. This position will partner with the Modernize Transformation PMO on IT Portfolio work intake and other topics of integration.

Essential Activities:

  • Lead the identification and implementation of project management processes, methods, tools, guidelines and standards to establish/enforce a stable framework that supports all project teams and stakeholders to improve the probability of successful project delivery
  • Lead the establishment of a project management community of practice to facilitate standard practices, collaboration and best-practice sharing among IT project managers and key PMO stakeholders as well as betweeen core and Modernize PMO teams
  • Owner ship for the Safelite Core IT program roadmap. Facilitates the prioritization and disposition of IT programs and project requests based on strategic objectives, changing functional needs, resource capacity constraints, risk exposure, and interdependencies with key initatives (e.g. transformation). Participates in work intake triage
  • Ensures appropriately skilled resources are available to deliver on commitments. Develops appropriate resource strategy for accomplishing project deliverables that may include utilization of internal or external resources that considers cost, expertise, and appropriateness to the respective project
  • Manages financial profit and loss statements for IT PMO office, including accurately forecasting costs, operating within established budgets, and attaining margin improvement objectives.
  • Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function. Recommends policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
  • Provides day to day guidance to the IT PMO Director, Portfolio Management lead and facilitates an ongoing cadence that surfaces and aids the resolution of escalated risks, issues, challenges, key decisions and consistent quality program health and delivery results.
  • Other duties assigned by management


Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years PMO -- IT experience
  • 5+ years leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of the product and lifecycle; experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies; (PMP, Scrum Master and/or Product Owner certification preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting / leading large-scale IT programs and projects/initiatives to successful completion and implementation
