About the job
Serve as a technical champion and trusted adviser for select global system integrator (GSI) accounts. The Red Hat Sales team is looking for an Associate Solutions Architect to join us. In this role, you will partner with Red Hat's account executive to achieve sales attainment goals through technical leadership both internally and with your customers. You'll participate in the discovery of business and technical challenges to solve problems that map onto and align with Red Hat's solutions. You will own the development of the technical account plan for your accounts, help facilitate the coordination of domain experts, support associates and partners, and ensure outstanding customer satisfaction. As an Associate Solutions Architect, you'll need to have excellent communication and people skills, foundation of technical expertise, passion for open source, and a thorough understanding of business processes and IT problems faced at the enterprise level. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Map business problems and technical challenges onto Red Hat's solutions
  • Develop lasting relationships with key technical and business stakeholders and Red Hat's partners
  • Follow and understand industry trends
  • Manage customer satisfaction issues through escalation paths provided by Red Hat's support and frequent checkpoints with customers both before and after the sale
  • Manage technical account plans for key customers in alignment with best practices proposed by the Sales team
  • Develop the overall technical account plan and strategy; lead an ongoing cadence with all technical associates
  • Facilitate specialist associates
  • Participate in workshops and the scoping of professional services
  • Engage and work with specialists aligned with customer requirements
  • Work with strategic partners


What you will bring

  • 2+ years of experience working in sales engineering, consulting, IT architecture, or in an equivalent field supporting enterprise accounts
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills
  • Demonstrated record of developing relationships across multiple business segments and roles
  • Ability to interpret customer business problems and technical issues and effectively explain how Red Hat's solutions align with identified challenges or requirements
  • Knowledge of enterprise solutions and architectures including container technology, DevOps, public cloud technologies, automation, and virtualization
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
  • Fundamental knowledge of Linux or Unix operating systems
  • Knowledge of all Red Hat's solutions and overall architecture; ongoing Red Hat's solutions and sales training through continuing education
  • Manager-directed deeper knowledge of our offerings; presentation skills
  • Technical account plan creation and business value discovery experience
