Job Description & Requirements

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the managing construction phases critical to the development of large multi-faceted themed attractions and ensuring completion for UPR Project Team. Works closely with the Project Manager and/or Construction Manager to ensure timely construction development, coordinates interactions with the general contractors and serves as a liaison between the general contractors and project team.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively participates in daily, weekly, and monthly area meetings with contractors and vendors with UPR project team and documents the results in daily/weekly/monthly meeting minutes.
  • Performs all required construction management processes including but not limited to: RFI's, Shop Drawings, Directives, Submittals, Punch Lists, Short Form Agreements and other documents as required. Works with Technical and Construction team to gather, compile and record information required for Certificates of Occupancy, Documentation of Final Acceptance and F-24 compliance.
  • Supports UPR project team for walk-throughs and inspections, including site access.
  • Updates assistant project manager and scheduler weekly regarding the progress of the site and facilities.
  • Establishes site-visiting procedures with general contractors and UPR project team for vendor visits. Monitors third-party construction development and report results. Manages and coordinates staging area inventories for arrival and dispatch.
  • Manages overall punch list activities. Reviews submittals from the contractor for all close-out documentation including, but not limited to shop drawings, submittals, as-built drawings, warranties, lien waivers, etc. Assists in the preparation of an overall project post mortem.
  • Assists with preparation of Request for Proposals. Prepares documentation required for site access, lay down and other logistics for the contractors and vendors. Contributes in responses to contractor and vendor questions for the RFP. Prepares the final evaluation and recommendations for the bids and proposals.
  • Coordinates construction shipping/receiving elements, purchase orders and testing with direction from the Project Manager and/or Construction Manager. Responsible for identifying efficiency/accuracy improvements critical to maintain overall project schedule
  • Becomes familiar with the Creative concept package and monitors the development of the construction documents. Facilitates the review of all of the various design phase submittals from the architects and show vendors. Attends design progress review meetings.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



SCOPE: COMPLEXITY OF WORK: Non-routine; general policies applied to frequently changing situations; detailed understanding of technical issues.

RELATIONSHIPS OUTSIDE WORK UNIT: Influences decisions of moderate nature requiring high degree of tact.

RESPONSIBILITY: Administration of standard policies and procedures and coordinates work through direct supervision or an advisory capacity.

EDUCATION: Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in engineering Construction Management, Business Administration or a related field is required. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 3-5 Years relevant construction/project management experience. Previous experience with turnkey projects, specifically within the theme park/entertainment industry is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
