The Associate Project Manager (Logistics) is a strong leader responsible for handling Federal related operational tasks as well as issue resolution in support of the Federal customer relationship. The primary objective is to ensure CDWG is meeting contractual compliance, exceeding service level metrics and providing valuable support to the Federal sales teams and customers. The Associate Project Manager will work closely with partners, distributors, the inside sales teams, and various backbone departments.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Primary contact and subject matter expert on CDW backbone, and Federal Professional Services process related topics and tasks.
  • Provide support on operational items required to facilitate daily execution of customer contracts.
  • Serve as first point of escalation for account managers and assist with issue resolution on product and operational topics as they arise.
  • Identify, escalate, and provide issue resolution on operational abnormalities.
  • Inventory control; manage preordered inventory on order and on hand with an emphasis on minimizing aged stock levels.
  • Work closely with Program Management to safeguard contract compliance.
  • Develop trusted partnership with warehouse, sales, bid desk, PPM and finance to insure consistent execution and customer experiences.

Program Management

  • Ability to read and interpret Government awarded contracts, identify contract terms and compliance requirements needed for projects; Communicates those needs to internal stakeholders and develops Courses of Action (COAs) to meet those requirements.
  • Conducts weekly reviews of projects in motion, develops project scorecards and reviews project timelines.
  • Works collaboratively with DoD customers to understand their mission needs and acts as a liaison to sales & services teams for customer needs.
  • Develops appropriate documentation (project plan, project schedules, status reports, etc) for projects. Manages the quality and delivery of documentation to customers and stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with internal stakeholders (legal, international compliance, sales, services, Product & Partner Management) regularly in execution of program management.
  • Owns the change management process on program efforts and initiates new Statements of Work (SOWs) or Change Orders as appropriate.
  • Manages risks across program efforts, develops risk management plans and a communication plan for program efforts.

Leadership

  • Problem Solving & Decision-Making skills from the Strategic view to the tactical view of operations for our DoD customer base.
  • Instills trust with our customers by building strong relationships and leveraging personal experience to build credibility.
  • Leads efforts to continuously contribute and improve our overall project management knowledge base. Develops standards, best practices, job aids and training for team members.
  • Has clear and concise communication skills with the ability to lead / facilitate live or virtual meetings. Ideal candidate possesses emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills.


Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Associate degree or at least 5-year experience in CDW sales-related or CDW backbone role
  • Microsoft Office in particular, proficiency in using Excel

  • Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities/projects with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines and providing high quality work and service level
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, management, executives, other CDW departments, customers, and vendor partners
  • Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding and strong appreciation for handling confidential information
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Superior attention to detail and follow up
  • Basic technical product knowledge particularly with computers and servers
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously and adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% or as necessary to other CDW locations, meetings and client sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent knowledge and proficiency with AS400 and SPS
  • Knowledge of backbone departments, responsibilities, and processes
  • Desire to seek PMP Certification
