Associate Director, Network Planning
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is looking for an Associate Director of Network Strategy and Analytics to join our Supply Chain team. This role will be responsible for defining the multi-year supply chain strategy for Chewy. We are looking for leaders who combine strong planning, operations, and transportation backgrounds with a bias for delivering results through collaboration, thinking big, and creating healthy debate. The Associate Director will lead a team that drives efforts across the organization to determine our network structure from supplier to customer. Evaluating options and driving debate across the inbound, fulfillment, and outbound space will be central to success in this role. Doing so will require coordination of many different teams, including partners in data science, forecasting, engineering, operations, transportation, and real estate. This role will help build the infrastructure necessary to deliver analysis, thought leadership, and leadership reviews necessary to make multi-year investments in Chewy’s supply chain. This is an opportunity to build the data structure, metrics, and institutional framework for multi-year planning from the ground up.
What you’ll do:
- Build metrics and models that evaluate options for inputs/outputs of our network.
- Work with partners in data science to deliver the deep math and analytics necessary to answer the most difficult questions.
- Work with partners in the inbound, fulfillment and outbound space to properly define the key business questions and our options.
- Create detailed options the define the required inputs and expected outputs to solve our biggest business questions.
- Drive leadership reviews to debate our options and gain alignment on our plans.
What you’ll need:
- 6-8+ years of Supply Chain experience
- Current managerial responsibility of a team of 3+
- Ability to collaborate with cross functional stake holders, influence decisions, and recommend a course of action based on data and analytics
- Detail oriented and possess superior organizational, self-motivation and problem-solving skills
- Tenacity pursuing carrier performance issues and strong sense of urgency to correct/improve
- Extensive knowledge in transportation, operations management, and planning
- Solid understanding of data analysis including advanced proficiency with Excel, SQL, and Tableau
- Proven leader, record of building teams, creating metrics and delivering results
- E-commerce background is a requirement
- Startup experience is a plus
