We are seeking an Agile Scrum Master for this key role in Optum Tech! This position will be part of a core virtual care technology team that is helping build the state-of-the-art platform components for internal and external markets. The position will lead agile scrum teams across all Optum Virtual Care technology integrations.
We are currently seeking an experienced internal/external candidate for Agile Practitioner/Scrum Master in Optum Clinical Health group within Optum Technology.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure alignment and understanding of program/project scope and objectives with the organization's strategic objectives and the Voice of the Customer, in consultation with applicable stakeholders
  • Raise awareness of any misalignment or misunderstanding of project scope and objectives with applicable stakeholders
  • Monitor scope requirements and identify scope-related gaps and issues
  • Lead the scrum team in using Agile methodology and scrum practices
  • Helping the product owner and development team to achieve PI goals
  • Lead the scrum and development teams in self-organization
  • Remove impediments and coach the scrum team on removing impediment
  • Help the scrum and development teams to identify and fill in blanks in the Agile framework
  • Help the scrum team achieve higher levels of scrum maturity
  • Support the product owner and provide education where needed
  • Closely align with Business partners to establish common goals and approach
  • Effectively break down barriers to maintain progress on deliverables
  • Communicate effectively with project teams and leaders both in verbal and written form
  • Act as a recognized voice of the customer to OVC engineering teams
  • Identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems and solve complex problems and/or conduct complex analyses
  • Partner with stakeholders to enable successful development and delivery of features
  • Partner with engineering to understand, scope, and prioritize technical debt stories

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher education (or 6+ years of related work experience)
  • 4+ years of experience working with Agile methods and framework leading complex matrix teams in a technical environment
  • 4+ years of experience managing complex projects and programs with IT and healthcare systems
  • 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Product Owner or Agile Coach
  • Experience leading agile/scrum adoption at the team level and familiar with dev/ops
  • Understanding of fundamentals of DevOps, Continuous Delivery & Accept Test Drive Development (ATDD)
  • Understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition
  • Understanding of incremental delivery and the value of metrics
  • Ability to execute on process improvements and other initiatives within the organizatio
  • Must be able to work in the Eastern time zone or Central time zone in the U.S.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Agile Certifications a plus SCRUM Master, RTE or SAFe
  • Experience with software engineering and/or customer implementations
  • Detail oriented and excessively organized
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken form
