About the role

MetaMask is built by a talented and passionate team who cares deeply about our mission. Over the months and years ahead, we will take our products in new directions while continuing to iterate on the features that made MetaMask the success it is today.

We are looking for a collaborative and supportive Agile Project Manager who will take charge of the execution of our roadmap. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our teams perform as highly as possible, and in service to our mission and values. To this end, you will:

  • Help ensure that we ship at a healthy cadence
  • Assist Product Managers in defining timelines and prioritizations that satisfy key stakeholders
  • Identify process improvement opportunities, and lead their implementation, to improve development velocity, team member happiness and product quality for end users
  • Support individuals and teams in the planning and prioritization of work
  • Foster a spirit of collaboration and collective decision making within your teams
  • Advocate for our engineers and designers, shielding them from distractions
  • Set-up and manage tools and process for monitoring work progress and status

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  •  Manage objectives, priorities, trade-offs, issues and risks for your team
  •  Establish plans and schedules to attain team goals
  • Facilitate sprint ceremonies (grooming, planning, stand-ups, review, retro)
  •  Support triage our GitHub issue backlog from our open-source developer community
  • Help the team identify and resolve blockers
  • Organize sprints in coordination with product managers, engineers, and designers
  • Support  release management activities
  • Step up as a product owner in coordination with product managers when needed
  • Facilitate relationships and communication between the product  team and stakeholders across MetaMask and ConsenSys

Role requirements

  • Extensive experience leading, coordinating, and facilitating software teams and sprints
  • A proven track record of shipping delightful products
  • Familiarity with and interest in blockchain products, and an eagerness to learn more
  • Excellent communication and social skills
  • Strong organization and documentation skills and an ability to gather requirements, acceptance criteria, etc.
  • Deep understanding of a variety of agile processes and product development methodologies
  • Adaptable to meet team members where they are at, and guide them in adopting and iteratively improving on process in ways that meet their unique needs
  • Comfortable with product ownership and decision-making, in collaboration with product managers
  •  Working hours are 9am-5pm Pacific time or Eastern time or Western Europe time, with core hours being 9am - 1pm Pacific time. You should be online and able to have synchronous meetings during that time.

  • You’re a practicing Scrum Master and/or Project Manager
  • You’re a certified Agile practitioner (e.g. CSM, CSPO, PMI-ACP, etc)
  • You’re a certified PMP
  • You’re a MetaMask user!

Remote First:

Employees get 1 week off in August, 2 weeks in December for the end of year slow down period, and 2 Mondays per quarter. This adds up to 4 weeks! Are you still counting? Productivity 10x:
Every other Wednesday, we have a “Productivity 10x Days”. On these days, we cancel all internal meetings and rely on async communication channels such as Slack and email. This is to allow employees time to focus on projects they have been working on, tick off those open items on their to do lists and be 10x more productive. This applies to internal company meetings only and we leave it up to the discretion of our employees if they would like to continue meetings with external clients and vendors.

Bonus:
