Agile Project Manager - Job Description

The Agile Project Manager (PM) must be a strong communicator and can assess complex scenarios and make recommendations to resolve issues in the best interest of the organization. Implements technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program and communicating them clearly to stakeholders across the business. Assesses situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization. Leads project teams in the execution of small to mid-size projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate agile team planning and delivery activities, including but not limited to backlog/scope definition and refinement, prioritization, planning, estimation, reviews, retrospectives, and stand-ups
  • Partner with stakeholders to mitigate risks, remove impediments, and resolve conflicts and issues to allow teams to focus on value delivery
  • Champion agile practices and principles by coaching and mentoring teams
  • Guide the team on the agile principles and values to enable and promote self-organization
  • Apply an empirical approach to inform forecasting and commitments
  • Utilize lean and agile concepts to improve predictability, quality, flow, and value
  • Encourage open communication and transparency to keep the team and stakeholders informed and aligned with progress
  • Promote continuous improvement within teams supported by metrics
  • Maintain agile lifecycle management tools to efficiently capture and communicate accurate information
  • Collaborate with the Business Product Owners to support short and long-term release planning, leadership visibility, prioritization, and to keep the backlog healthy and prepared for execution.
  • Establish an environment of team learning and innovation
  • Embrace change and quickly adapt to new situations, changes in direction, and shifting priorities

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years Scrum Master experience
  • 1-3 years of information technology experience and/or business experience
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience using or familiar with at least one agile lifecycle management tool (i.e., Jira, Azure DevOps, Broadcom/Rally, etc.)
  • A self-starter, problem solver, communicative, facilitative, assertive, situationally aware, enthusiastic, and continually improving
  • Ability to workindependently
  • Strong orientation to execution, customer satisfaction, and delivering outcomes
  • Ability to see the big picture and manage work across technologies, domains, and business functions
  • Be an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive workenvironment

Preferences:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
  • Scrum master certification (CSM) or PMI-ACP preferred
  • Staffing Industry experience
  • Travel Nursing experience
  • Medical field or terminology background
