Description and Requirements
The Agile Program Manager (APM) is a connecting fabric of Lenovo's Cloud and Software business and key part of our software leadership team. You are metrics driven and detail oriented , and a CHANGE AGENT with a passion for supporting teams to transform their behaviors towards an Agile way of working, .while keeping up with latest Agile trends and tools, and managed complex and multi-team software products spanning multiple geographies. The APM is an Agile leader who is eager to take part in cultivating an environment for our teams where transparency, speed, quality, are at the forefront. The APM is co-located with the squads, in most cases, and is involved daily with the Scrum team daily activities. In addition, the APM will regularly work with the engineering and product management line management to drive the product and solution release schedules, reinforce the agile principles, and communicate the agile maturity, along with the actions to improve to the organizations key performance indicators.
We are seeking an Agile Program Manager that will focus on continuous improvement, management communication and reporting, scope flexibility, team collaboration and coordination, and delivering quality products. This superstar will use the highly visible APM role to actively manage and resolve schedule issues and adjustments and help us meet business goals.
Above all, the APM will drive our dynamic and innovative environments and will be exposed to many new modern software solutions, and legacy client solutions that is being managed in traditional ways and will need to be transformed by leveraging Agile/Lean management methodologies.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Owns the creation and management of schedule and communicate progress to management
  • Actively addresses schedule and issues and adjustments to meet the business timelines
  • Promotes and encourages collaboration and transparency with different teams, captures and manages dependencies, synchronizes schedules
  • Organize and facilitate agile ceremonies/project meetings with internal and external organizational stakeholders
  • Work with Product Owners and Stakeholders to provide clear priorities that drive towards organizational goals while delivering on key KPI's
  • Work with DevOps team, Developers, Product Owners, and other key stakeholder to continue to define and improve common agile processes and practices
  • Trains and coaches the Scrum teams and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices
  • Trains and coaches the teams towards becoming self-organized, and driving transparency
  • Actively aid scrum teams' productivity by identifying solutions to obstacles as they arise
  • Regularly assess squads' agile maturity, which will drive your coaching and development approach for each squad
  • Identify and manage risks associated with projects
  • Utilize agile principles to influence change
  • Provide strong influencing skills to achieve alignment up, down, and across organization


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering field from a four-year accredited college/university.
  • Agile Certification (ACP, CSM or PSM)
  • 5 years or more organizational experience in software companies with Agile practices.
  • Experience as an coach for a software development team using Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
  • Extended track record of delivering training in a manner than ensures knowledge transfer
  • Experience with ATDD projects a must
  • Excellent communication and people-interaction skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Software, Cloud Software
  • Agile Certification (CSM)
  • Experience with JIRA and other Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, and Crucible)
  • Expertise with Agile and accompanying techniques: User Centric Design, Acceptance Test Driven Design (ATDD), Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Automated Testing,
  • Experience managing multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts
  • Experience and skills in leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Excited to work in a rapidly changing industry.
  • Ability to lead with imagination, courage, and curiosity
