The World Surf League connects millions of fans across the globe to live competition and surf related content through our own and operated website and app. As the Project Management Lead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and smooth operation of various digital projects, including product launches, online tools, web applications and application enhancements. You will be helping us manage these projects through an aggressive calendar of live surfing competitions. This role will report directly into our Chief Technology Officer. Title to reflect relevant experience of the applicant (either Senior Manager or Director level).
For this position, we expect you to be a seasoned project management professional who understands digital products, project lifecycles, and be familiar with agile development. You should be methodical and have excellent time management skills. You will act as a conduit between our various teams and third party development partners, ensuring that projects remain on schedule, and identifying and communicating risks as they arise. Communication skills and the ability to document complex requirements working with project managers will be important to your success.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Provide end-to-end project management
- Collaborate with the Product team to scope project requirements and prepare schedule
- Work with the CTO to create an attainable roadmap
- Develop detailed project plans and monitor progress
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to design, develop and implement digital projects
- Deliver projects on time ensuring quality standards are met
- Develop project support documentation including requirement specifications
- Communicate with the team and ensure all members are on board and on time with delegated tasks
- Highlight potential risks or malfunctions and act proactively to resolve issues
- Seek opportunities for process improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, preferably in a technical field.
- 6+ years of experience in live broadcasting, streaming operations, gaming or event production
- Proven work experience as a digital project manager
- Familiarity with agile/scrum based development
- Hands on experience with JIRA/Confluence
- Familiarity with Content Management systems
- Understanding of digital product analytics
- Knowledge of digital advertising operations
- Technical understanding/ prowess around digital products
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Communication and team management skills

Annual Salary Range (Senior Manager/Director): $145,000.00 - $190,000.00 based on relevant experience
