We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in structural steel to support a major, high-profile infrastructure project valued at over $1B.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for coordinating engineering efforts, supporting field operations, and ensuring that structural steel components are designed, fabricated, and erected efficiently and accurately. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a large-scale, complex build while working alongside an experienced construction team.
What You’ll Do- Coordinate contract drawings, design drawings, and shop drawings to support steel fabrication and erection
- Collaborate with fabricators, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to resolve design and constructability issues
- Work closely with design and construction engineers to develop effective means and methods
- Support project planning, sequencing, and execution of structural steel work
- Assist in tracking project costs and forecasting to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Identify and resolve technical challenges to maintain project schedule and quality
- Facilitate communication between engineering, field teams, and leadership
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and construction standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in structural steel, heavy civil, bridge, or vertical construction projects
- Experience on projects valued at $100M+
- Background working with a large general contractor
- Strong experience coordinating with fabricators, subcontractors, and design teams
- Ability to interpret complex construction and shop drawings
- Understanding of steel erection processes and constructability considerations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
