Deep Sky is at the forefront of combating climate change through innovative carbon removal technologies. Our mission is to develop and implement scalable solutions for direct air capture systems. We are embarking on an ambitious project, Deep Sky Labs, our innovation and commercialization facility designed to make a significant impact on carbon reduction. We will be using this facility to identify leading technologies to partner and scale to commercial production. To achieve this milestone, we are seeking a talented Project Engineer based in Europe to work in collaboration with our technology partners to ensure pilot projects are delivered on time and within budget.
As a Project Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the scouting of technologies in Europe and the delivery of pilot projects to Canada. You will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to identify technology partners for our state-of-the-art direct air capture facilities.
In this role, you will work as part of the Capture Team to:
- Manage relationships with DAC technology partners across Europe.
- Scout and evaluate potential startups and companies developing DAC pilots for collaboration.
- Conduct regular site visits to partner locations to monitor project progress and performance.
- Work with partners to ensure project schedules and budgets are met.
- Provide technical expertise and support to partners to optimize the performance of DAC pilots.
- Prepare detailed project reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Deep Sky team in Canada to ensure alignment on project goals and strategies.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in direct air capture technologies and industry trends.
An ideal candidate has:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Masters or PhD preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the renewable energy or environmental technology sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of direct air capture technologies and processes.
- Proven experience working in a startup environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel regularly within Europe and occasionally to Canada.
- Proficiency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
