Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Project Director to join our Data Centre team. With a market leading client base and the opportunity to take the lead on strategic commissions and high-profile projects, this is an exciting time to join the business unit and grow a career with Turner & Townsend.

This role is client facing, working within a professional and ambitious team, where you will receive excellent support. We have brought our brightest minds together to respond to our client’s Project and Programme management objectives working on major hyperscale projects.

Responsibilities

As a Project Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing large-scale and complex data centre projects in the real estate sector, from feasibility, design, construction and completion
  • Developing and implementing project strategies, plans and large scale budgets on complex construction projects
  • Establishing and maintaining effective processes and systems to be utilised throughout the project
  • Monitoring and reporting on project progress and other performance indicators
  • Managing and mitigating risks and issues
  • Preparing and delivering written project communication materials
  • Preparing and presenting formal project progress and other reports
  • Managing and coordinating the client, contractors and designers
  • Attending and chairing meetings and drafting minutes, etc
  • Other responsibilities, to include:
    • Developing and delivering presentation materials for client pitches, etc.
    • Managing and updating key information into the Turner & Townsend internal database
    • Providing thought leadership and insights on the latest trends and innovations in the Data Centre real estate sector

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years’ work experience
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience in large scale Data Centre projects in the real estate sector
  • Experience of master planning/strategic estate development and capital project planning for business case compilation is desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience in client-facing roles at all levels
  • Track record of delivering the construction of hyperscale Data Centre projects from inception to completion
  • Relevant qualification (project management or construction management)
  • Member of a chartered institute e.g., RICS / CIOB although not essential
  • Good knowledge of construction industry and Data Centre sector themes
  • Good knowledge of project lifecycle and business case approvals process
  • Availability for on-site work
