SUMMARY: The Programmer, Life Safety and Security (PLS) Provides systems programming, technical support, installation programming documentation for Physical Security and Fire Alarm system
HIERARCHY: The Programmer Reports to the Team Lead, Life Safety and Security, who reports to the Director, Engineering US GVC who Reports to VP Sales – US GVC who Reports to the Chief Sales Officer
PRIMARY DUTIES: Include but are not limited to:
· Supports Engineering and Operations by communicating with Project Managers, Engineers,
Technicians, or other professional and technical personnel about aspects of system setup,
configuration and troubleshooting
· Reviews blueprints, plans, and other customer documents to assist with system setup and
configuration.
· Delivers onsite and/or remote support during installation and service of Technology systems.
· Responds to technical questions and/or objections/limitations of system programming capability
and/or functionality
· Assist technicians remotely and/or onsite with testing and certification of programmed systems
COMPENTENCY:
· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate at technical and
non-technical levels.
· Basic understanding of local and wide area networks.
· Extensive technical knowledge of specifically assigned systems: Access Control, CCTV,
Intrusion Alarm and Fire Alarm
· Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and follows through on assigned tasks.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of industry experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS: English
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Conceptual understanding of software architecture
· Industry experience with following manufacturers product line(s):

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing duties of this job, employee is required to stand, stoop, balance, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Indianapolis, IN, remotely from home and at client sites as required.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: Normal business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, required work hours may vary depending on business needs.
TRAVEL: Local travel as needed; Generally, within 50 miles of Indianapolis, IN New Era Technology office. National travel may be required on rare occasion.
