Roles and Responsibilities
- Utilize inventory, place/manage orders, and ship and source materials according to the job’s needs.
- Attain operational efficiency though the execution and participation in lean manufacturing/kaizen events.
- Interface with cross-functional teams daily to execute the movement of material in and out of the plant while communicating status to stakeholders daily and expediting when needed.
- Act as work director for the material handlers in support of the entire instrumentation team to execute internal material moves around the shop to meet operational goals.
- Ensure proper disposition of materials for reuse to eliminate shortages/lead times and reduce costs while making sure quality requirements are met.
- Order material and equipment as needed and oversee the production of make-in-house inventory
- In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 5 years of experience in materials planning, production planning/scheduling, manufacturing, sourcing, or other supply chain related field)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in materials planning, production planning/scheduling, manufacturing, sourcing, or other supply chain related field (or GE Aerospace Leadership Program Graduate in lieu of experience)
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Desired Characteristics
- Experience with ERP Systems (Maximo, Oracle, and IMPACT).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills
