Technical Product Manager

Position Overview:

The Neighborly® IT Team is focused on achieving great outcomes and is committed to helping our associates succeed through technology driven solutions. We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager to join our team. Under general direction, the Technical Product Manager supports the technology lifecycle of complex new products, features and enhancements from conception, requirements gathering, product specification, implementation review, and release.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define software product roadmap and solutions by working with stake holders including business owners, technology leaders for new products or product enhancement/support
  • Provide strategic direction for the products.
  • Provide prioritization and groom the backlog.
  • Work with Project Management teams in defining the schedule and support with managing risks and issues.
  • Build user and data flow for the application to align the different stake holders
  • Provide day to day direction on the functionality to product owners and scrum teams through requirements documents and functional specifications.
  • Acts as primary point of contact resources for scope elaboration to successfully release features on time and within budget.
  • Involved in all stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Uses various technologies and system views and acts as conduit across stakeholders to solve complex business problems.
  • Collaborates primarily with stake holders, scrum teams and other stakeholders to identify and close product gaps.
  • Ability to effectively organize and present data in a format that is easily consumable by non-technical users
  • Participate in UAT testing and support the effort in answering questions.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • Collaborative and drives alignment across the organization for project/product enhancements.

  • Applies advanced skills, practices & procedures to complete small to medium projects or a complex component of a large project
  • May assist with training, work assignments, or reviewing work of other employees as directed.
  • Receives general direction on assignments with minimal review
  • Decisions have impact on success of project team, department, and/or client
  • Candidate must be customer focused, goal oriented, and have a passion for success
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Microsoft Access
  • Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical people
  • Work effectively in a team and office environment
  • Ability to clearly communicate the results of work to others
  • Must be able to organize and coordinate work efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Must show character and responsibility in dealing with sensitive, confidential information
  • Experience and proven ability to communicate (verbally and written) effectively with business and IT stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Ability to translate user feedback and decisions into technical requirements
  • Ability to organize and conduct training or workshops for large groups and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Min 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Direct product management, product support or systems integration experience with complex point of sale or field service systems preferred
