Role Description

At Form Energy, we are on a mission to drive the decarbonization of global energy systems through the deployment of massive market impact, low-cost, multi-day energy storage solutions. We're building a world-class engineering culture of passionate and mission-driven people to design and build hardware and software products that will enable reliable and fully renewable electric grids year-round. We're in a phase of growth, so join our team and make a difference! You'll be helping to position our breakthrough technology, accelerate our software adoption, and be an early member of a growing software development practice that directly impacts climate change.

Form’s advanced grid modeling capabilities are instrumental to our mission: they enable us to maximize the value our batteries can deliver, to understand the role they will play in the future power system, and communicate our value effectively to stakeholders across the energy industry. The Technical Product Manager role will be part of our Commercial & Analytics Product Management team working on Form’s flagship software, Formware, a capacity expansion, and economic dispatch modeling tool. You will focus on implementing the product strategy for Formware’s back-end optimization service: guiding and delivering development, enhancement, and advanced functionality of the tool.

What You'll Do:

  • Work with software and modeling technical teams to productize the Formware optimization service, defining, launching, and testing new features
  • Collaborate with the Commercial & Analytics product lead and other stakeholders to maintain Formware’s development roadmap
  • Conduct in-depth research on modeling tools, techniques, and data sources, engaging in procurement processes as needed
  • Contribute to the development of external- and internal-facing collateral for Formware, running Formware to generate necessary case studies and visuals
  • Generate detailed documentation of Formware features and capabilities for internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll Bring:

  • A commitment to Form’s values of humanity, excellence, and creativity, as well as a sincere passion for Form’s mission
  • A track record of managing the development of technical software products or projects, with at least 1-3 years of technical product management experience
  • Power industry experience with exposure to power system modeling and planning tools or battery simulation is strongly preferred, and an ability to learn fast and go deep on technical topics related to optimization modeling
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, comfort operating independently, and a high tolerance for ambiguity
  • An eagerness to jump in as a collaborative, generous, and empathic team player who enjoys working with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to balance a diverse set of tasks and responsibilities; excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Superb written and oral communication, with an ability to distill and simplify complex topics for non-technical audiences
  • Comfort using Python or similar programming language for data analysis and visualization
