About the Role: 

The Technical Software Product Manager will provide management, leadership and expertise to the Digital Science organization in order to meet technical and business objectives. This role will be embedded within the Digital Science organization coordinating departmental or cross-functional teams, passionate about delivering new or upgrading existing products. It will manage one or more projects applying project and product management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to drive success. Additionally, the technical software product manager will monitor internal projects from initiation through delivery including planning, directing schedules and coordinating cross functionally. This position will engage subject matter experts and functional leaders to develop integrated project plans, identify stakeholder requirements, and balance competing project constraints of scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources, and risk. The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate with the technical developers as well as stakeowners and leadership.

Responsibilities:  

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and risks associated with timelines/deliverables are clearly communicated to management.
  • Extract and refine user needs and requirements from stakeholders
  • Guide the software teams to focus on the most valuable deliverables
  • Communicate product status and risks to cross functional teams.
  • Support the technical teams with Agile implementation and ceremony 
  • Prioritize team and physical resource allocations.
  • Implement processes to handle and control all types of project change
  • Represent the technical team at cross-department meetings
  • Facilitate issue and risk management in collaboration with the cross functional teams.
  • Generate metrics with the goal to optimize the team’s productivity.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Proficiency with standard project management software and enterprise resourcing planning.
  • Bring forth solutions to meet timelines when at risk.

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with relevant training in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Software, Chemistry, Biological Sciences or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the healthcare or life science industry.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work within a commercial environment and influence with and without authority in a cross-functional role.
  • Experience working successfully in a regulated domain

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $105,000 to $170,000 per year.

Compensation for this role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location, and may fall outside of the range shown.
