ABOUT THE TEAM


Basis Technologies' Product team guides the innovation and development of our innovative software platform, Basis. This team blends focus, collaboration, and creativity to fulfill our mission in creating a transformative tool that goes well beyond streamlining work to make those jobs more fulfilling for those who power the ad tech industry.

The customer experience is paramount to this team's work and incorporates market research, cross-departmental stakeholder collaboration, user testing, communicating feature requests to engineers and designers, monitoring impact of new feature rollouts, measuring returns on product investments, and more. Together, we leverage our diverse industry experience and talent to brainstorm new ideas, iterate on past ones, and deliver the best possible product for our users.

 

WAYS YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE 


The Technical Product Manager for Basis Reporting will have a direct impact on growing the business by unifying our data storage and access capabilities, enhancing their existing functionality, and creating new ways to serve data and analytic tools to our clients. Applicants for this role should be highly knowledgeable in Product Management lifecycle, strategy and roadmap development, measurement of ad tech, sales and marketing, business case inputs, big data, needs validation. 

OTHER WAYS YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM ARE BY:

  • Clearly defining the "what" -- as opposed to the "how" -- and manage the delivery of the "what"
  • Taking responsibility for devising and executing winning product plans to create great products and inspire others to do it with you!
  • Partner with Data Engineering, Application Engineering, Core Product teams, and other teams within Basis Technologies to assess, model, and build feature roadmaps
  • Understand client needs by working with Customer Success, Sales and Data Operations to ensure client profiling data is available to improve the product roadmap.
  • Stay aware of competitor approaches to handling client data needs and how they impact our client base.
  • Contribute to Business Cases to justify roadmap planning and features against Return on Investment (ROI) and/or strategic initiatives
  • Develop relationships across Basis Technologies teams to develop end-to-end joint solutions, requirements, and project prioritization and planning
  • Author program level and feature level business requirements
  • Work closely with Engineering to review feature level technical requirements and to vet proposed solutions for suitability to immediate and long-term goals.
  • Work closely with PMO to develop charters, program and project planning using existing and new processes, and driving project execution from ideation through launch 
  • Incorporating Engineering feedback on feature scoping and development capacity
  • Working with QA as a leader -- and when needed as an individual contributor -- to continuously enhance the type and coverage of end-to-end validation
  • Working with external partners at a technical level to identify new functionality and/or efficiencies, and manage the delivery of those enhancements
  • Being hands-on to perform proof-of-concept testing and/or provide data where necessary to support recommendations
  • Creating artifacts to describe our complex ecosystem of campaign and customer data for the purposes of feature development, reporting, and BI
  • Post-release measurement of feature adoption/impact, gathering learnings and applying changes to further refine feature value

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3-5 years of experience as a Technical Product Manager, Product Manager for a technical product, Business Analyst, or technical leader responsible for end-to-end product delivery
  • Working knowledge of SQL, and Python for data analysis; Spark knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Big Data, ETL tools, traditional BI tools, including awareness of Kimball methods
  • Material experience querying large data sets and cloud platforms
  • Solid understanding of Systems Design, optimizations, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of AdTech, Agency/Brands, Programmatic Advertising a plus
  • Knowledge of CRM, Marketing Automation tools and processes a plus
  • You are a structured thinker that understands the level of detail needed to communicate with different audiences. It’s just as easy for you to communicate with a diagram as it is with your words

BONUS POINTS:

  • Experience and/or proficient understanding of Machine Learning frameworks
  • Programming experience in scripting languages such as Python or Java
