As part of the Technical product management team you will perform responsibilities of a Technical Product Owner of Agile software development/scrum team(s) utilizing the Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise (SAFe) methodology. You will be responsible for maintaining and prioritizing your team's backlog as well as leading your team in user story definition with final authority to accept quality enhancements. You will also be tasked with creation and internal communication and training of related release artifacts such as release notes and product training slides.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within United States as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, and manages activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life
  • Responsible for the full product lifecycle management, with a technical focus, including strategy, design, development, management, and end of life of new, existing or acquisition products
  • Leverage market insights to understand market/customer needs as well as emerging technology developments and trends to identify new opportunities or make adjustments to current product offerings
  • Balances deep subject matter expertise in the product, business use cases and strong technical aptitude
  • Accountable for delivering product performance against expectations and updates changes to a product portfolio to improve competitive position, and optimal product performance to meet customer and market needs
  • Accountable to and/or own the P&L. Responsible for cross-functional stakeholder management to include but not limited to design, engineering, scrum teams, business leaders, etc., functioning as technical expert with a fluency in development concepts and modern development practices
  • Positions in this function may require a background or degree in computer science or engineering

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Agile software development practices/scrum teams
  • Experience writing technology or software requirements/user stories
  • Experience in data analysis/business analysis/defining business need
  • Experience with project life cycle methodology (requirements, design, development, test and implementation)
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs and automated database management systems required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to translate strategic vision into tactical plans and balance conflicting priorities


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise (SAFe) methodology knowledge or experience
  • Hospital/facility medical records coding experience or knowledge
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Rally software experience
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), time/project management, problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
