A major component of our mission to create transformative healthcare payment experiences involves the ability to provide a seamless member experience at the point of sale. We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to lead our product information management team in expanding our standardized product data platform to ensure continued success in managing approved product lists (APLs) as well as continuing to scale our solutions by integrating and organizing robust product information across diverse data sets. This role will have a huge opportunity to define the product hierarchies and taxonomies that drive our retail integrations while ensuring data integrity and governance controls are in place to maintain a quality product.
You will be in the driver's seat and responsible for defining the product requirements, crafting transparency, and aligning across teams. In this role, you'll partner with skilled counterparts across the organization to formulate, ideate, research, discover, and deliver the outstanding product information systems and processes that enable the team to effectively grow and scale to support millions of members and over a dozen unique benefits nationwide.
We are looking for someone to join our product team that wants to build the products that our customers love. The efficient flow of product data is paramount to our success. As our business continues to grow, so will the number of data sources for this information. We are using technology to scale Solutran's infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify and scope business needs and translate those needs into product requirements
  • Communicate product requirements and rationale with all stakeholders including technology development teams, QA, marketing, sales, finance, and executives
  • Be responsible for your product area and own the entire product lifecycle from conception to implementation
  • Build and maintain the product roadmap for our Product Information Management which supports our benefit delivery
  • Support and define a standardized integration process
  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs between customer experience, business requirements, technical limitations, performance, and operational needs
  • Produce high quality documentation based on implemented methodology standards
  • Participate in and influence the definition of integration standard methodologies
  • Scope and prioritize feature requests, enhancements, and opportunities based on business goals and customer impact
  • Manage the backlog of features and integrations, prioritizing appropriately
  • Work closely with engineering teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources
  • Drive product launches including working with the marketing team, executives, and other product management team members
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of Technical Product Management/Product Owner or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching products in an Agile environment
  • Experience in application architectures, databases, SQL, APIs, etc
  • Experience designing and documenting user flows and workflows to support application development
  • Experience using quantitative and qualitative data to assess priorities and influence roadmaps


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in retail product information management
  • Experience in healthcare or health insurance
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in development and web technologies
  • Payments industry knowledge
  • Detail oriented with critical thinking skills - ability to break down initiative-level requirements into feature and story attribute level details
  • Demonstrated project team leadership skills
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously; strategic thinking with ability to build strong working relationships across organizational teams in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with non-technical and technical people inside and outside the organization

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
