Technical Product Manager - IT Project Delivery Team
Our Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly motivated and self-directed Technical Product Manager to be part of an exciting team located at our Corporate Headquarters in Dania Beach, FL. As a Technical Product Manager, you will play a central role in evolving the IT Infrastructure Project Delivery Team PPM tools and processes as a Product. This Technical Product Manager will be responsible for supporting the IT Infrastructure Project Delivery Team in routine administrative, planning, forecasting and reporting activities. Driving Project Delivery automation and process improvement will be key role success criteria. Candidates must be comfortable delivering very black and white solutions from grey requirements. The Technical Product Manager serves a fundamental role in the support of the team implementing IT solutions to complex computer, IT system, and network problems /challenges. What You’ll Do:
- SmartSheet System Administration including product vision and roadmap, keeping stakeholders up to date on the deliverables and timelines
- SmartSheet System Upgrades, Integrations and evangelize functionality to ensure all existing (800+) and new users can take advantage of it
- Project Delivery Process Documentation, Improvements and Automation for SmartSheet and other integrated systems used by IT Infrastructure and Tech resources
- QA Auditing of PPM Tools, Processes and Artifacts for Project Delivery Team
- Chewy Location Code Administration
- Sharepoint Administration for Project Delivery Team
- Confluence Administration for Project Delivery Team
- JIRA Administration for Project Delivery Team
- Support IT Infrastructure Project Delivery Demand / Resource Planning
- Management Reporting for Project Delivery Team
- Financial Planning and Forecasting for IT Infrastructure CapEx / OpEx
- Works in conjunction with key stakeholder, business subject matter experts and others as necessary to determine the future state of a specific deliverable
- Work with Finance, Tech engineering and development teams to resolve bottlenecks to help deliver systems and functionality which meet customer and Project Delivery Team needs
- Analyze customer needs across teams and projects, identifying commonalities and working with engineers to build tools that meet these common needs and use cases
- Coordinate activities across different organizational functions for activities undertaken by Engineering
- Identifies opportunities and may assess and provide recommendations based on relevance, appropriate timing, technology, implementation, and deployment
- Review and report on progress for IT Infrastructure Project Delivery initiatives/projects, managing project risks - including the development of contingency plans
- Performs other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT management, computer science, engineering, accounting, finance or related discipline OR equivalent work experience and technical training with proven project management experience and success.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of project management methodology, or currently actively progressing in education of.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment.
- Superior customer service and client interfacing skills.
- Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) and to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to deliver high quality projects using non-traditional/non-formal PMO structure/processes.
- Familiar with managing Water Fall and Agile or Iterative development projects.
- Familiar with managing 3rd party vendors in IT infrastructure, IT development, testing and staff augmentation.
- Ability to earn the respect of the IT Infrastructure PM team and other IT Infrastructure Leadership in order to lead efforts, coordinate teams and handle issues and problems effectively in a timely manner.
- Ability to quickly learn and use new complex technical concepts and resolve issues with them in a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to discuss complex technical concepts with the technical staff, stakeholders and business executives in a simple straightforward manner.
- Experience with MS Office Suite, including Power Point and Visio.
- Ability to be productive in a pet friendly open space seating work environment.
Bonus (if applicable):
- Experience with MS project and other related project management software.
- Familiar with information technology with at least one (1) year of project management experience (or formal project management education) guiding small to medium sized (1 – 12 month) projects with IT dependencies.
- Experience managing 3rd party vendors in IT infrastructure, IT development, testing and staff augmentation
- Project Management Institute CAPM / PBA / PMP Certification or similar desired
- Working knowledge or experience in managing Agile or Iterative development projects desired
- Experience managing small to medium project teams operating within a matrix organization.
- Experience using Smartsheet and system administration.
- Experience using JIRA / Confluence
- Experience using Sharepoint
- Experience working in both Water Fall and Agile/Scrum environments.
