Technical Product Manager (Data)

The Role
As a Data Product Manager at Self, you will work closely with a team of Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Analysts to develop a world-class data platform. Your mission is to enable data-driven decision making across all aspects of the Self organization. You will help define the long-term data strategy at Self, synthesizing the needs of stakeholders and developing a roadmap of prioritized initiatives. You will drive consensus on critical decisions regarding data architecture, platform, tooling, and vendor integrations. Your work on the Data Engineering team will unlock insights that define the future of Self.
What You Will Do
- Develop a Data Engineering roadmap by building consensus among diverse stakeholders
- Refine company-wide data models and strategy across the organization
- Perform quantitative and qualitative research to identify areas for improvement in our data pipeline, infrastructure, architecture, and patterns
- Improve access to self-service data for all Self employees
- Define and analyze metrics that track the success of our data platform
- Work closely with your Engineering Manager and Lead Developer to ensure timely and high-quality project execution
- Evaluate competitive landscape and stay informed of latest trends in Fintech and Data Engineering
- Drive new external data acquisition efforts
- Champion data literacy across the organization
What you Bring
- 2+ years experience as a Data Product Manager
- Prior experience at a high-growth tech company
- Familiar with data architecture and solutions
- Comfort managing inputs from multiple diverse stakeholders
- Ability to solve hard problems with quantitative analysis
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
- Outstanding communication skills
- Ability to draw connections between business objectives and technical implementation
- Prior Fintech experience a plus
