As part of the Retail Tech Platform team, this role will be an enabler of our journey to be the world's leading data-driven retailer. As part of this transformation, we are seeking an individual who will be responsible for providing thought leadership and direction to the company focused on strategic products. We are looking for a product strategist with a passion for technology who can help shape the roadmap for specific products.
About the Strategy & Ops team:
Our team focuses on defining strategy and operations for entire Retail Tech Platform organization within Global Tech. We are also responsible for developing product strategy for products that are foundational for Global Tech and Walmart business segments.
Specific Responsibilities:

  • Identify, prioritize, structure, and manage improvement opportunities for various products across a portfolio
  • Build the case for change using data, analysis of financial and operational metrics, and competitive benchmarking
  • Prepare recommendations in slide and whitepaper formats to improve and innovate to be shared with senior leadership
  • Partner with other product managers and technical project managers to develop roadmaps to deliver capabilities, growth, monetization, and more
  • Navigate internal teams and works with diverse cross-functional groups
  • Work with limited direction, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations
  • Create business cases for new products / capabilities and alignment with various stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Communications, or related field and 2 years' experience in product strategy, or related field OR 5 years' experience in product strategy, or related fields.
  • Experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Need core merchandising experience of item, catalog, pricing, assortment
  • Understanding of and passion for ecommerce and retail
  • Experience with available and emerging ecommerce, marketing, and advertising data analytics solutions
  • Strong analytical capabilities and ability to interpret data into actionable insights
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to develop and nurture relationship with stakeholders and vendors
  • Strong sense of urgency and personal commitment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment when working in stressful situations
  • Can lead and operate multiple project streams confidently
