Job Description

Principal Responsibilities and Essential Duties: 

  • Product Management – leads development of ISO’s OneXperience tool in the Personal Lines Property marketplace. This includes working closely with Xactware, Product Leadership, Development, Marketing, Sales, Finance and Operations. Is responsible for developing product improvement and modernization strategy, pricing strategy, contract structures, packaging and bundling, and enhancement opportunities for existing products. Develops revenue forecasts as well as business cases to support product development and the investments needed to execute on opportunities. Lastly, meeting with customers regularly to gather voice of the customer to inform product strategy as well as new product opportunities.
  • Sales Support - support sales organization with materials, training, meeting support (SME), proposals, insights, customer conference management, competitive information, etc. The Sr. Underwriting Product Manager will also be involved with helping the new client testing and onboarding process. This will vary from customer to customer working closely with the operations team. 
  • The Sr. Underwriting Product Manager is expected to be an expert in the property insurance industry. This will require ongoing participation in industry events and conferences, competitive research, collaboration with business partners, and engagement with customers. 
  • Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan.
  • Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree. Advanced degree or insurance designations (e.g. CPCU) desired.
  • 7+ years experience in an underwriting or product management role with insurance company, vendor, or related company.
  • Has familiarity and experience with the homeowner insurance end to end inspection process as well as virtual tools and capabilities available in today’s market place
  • Understanding of the basics of technology and the convergence of software and data to produce a superior outcome for customers
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with internal staff and external stakeholders
  • Comfortable speaking in front of a room full of industry executives but can also dive into the details of a challenging quantitative problem to solve customer needs
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical problem-solving and negotiating skills; business creativity is a must
  • Quantitative background with a focus on high quality data and analytics is a plus
  • Strong analytic aptitude required. Must be able to assess and address complex business problems as well as understand detailed customer workflows in order to identify opportunities that include Verisk capabilities across the organization
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, revenue generating environment.
  • Strong familiarity with the Personal Lines P&C market, Verisk products, and competitor’s offerings.
  • Sales & solution minded
  • Comfortable working and leading in not traditional matrix leadership environment
  • Experience with gathering and assessing competitive intelligence
  • 25% travel
