As a Senior Product Owner on the Echo Global Logistics Product team, you will be responsible for eliciting requirements and designing technology solutions on Echo's proprietary software platforms. Our software is created with the goal to simplify transportation for our clients and carriers, and is one of the largest competitive advantages in an ever growing market.
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively and support a cross functional team (Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Analysts, Product Managers, UX Architects, DevOps Engineers, and Business Owners/Executives) in an Agile environment
- Develop deep expertise of Echo's internal and client-facing technology product lines; designs and documents complex software functionality
- Fully understand Echo's business processes and goals across different domains and transportation modes
- Partner with Product Managers to understand domain roadmaps and define scope on prioritized roadmap initiatives
- Facilitate sessions with Echo executives, subject matter experts and end users to understand business problems and define requirements
- Document current and future state business/system processes, user stories and acceptance criteria for our internal and/or external facing technology products
- Member of a delivery team consisting of Scrum Master, Software Engineers and QA Analysts ensuring the right solution is being built; participates in all SCRUM rituals pertaining the Agile methodology
- Participate in product release cycles as the product expert, including user acceptance testing sessions, to help surface any issues prior to a release
- Help Echo's application support teams in troubleshoot production issues and escalate issues to the appropriate Agile delivery team as needed; manages end-user expectations appropriately
- Mentor junior level team members on best practices in product ownership, quality assurance and software delivery methodologies
- Perform and lead analytical studies, research and side projects, as required.
Position Requirements:
- 5+ years Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst or equivalent work experience
- Experience in the transportation/logistics/supply chain field is a plus
- Sound understanding of database concepts, including design, optimization of SQL query language
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Visio (charts, reports, data analysis, and flowcharting)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, fluid work environment
- Self-managed and motivated; organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to follow through with tasks to their completion
- Readiness to learn new technologies and analytical tools
- Exposure to the full software development lifecycle experience in an Agile-SCRUM environment
- Strong and proven skills in creating quality documents such as user stories/acceptance criteria, business requirements/use cases, process flows, product backlogs
- Analytical and problem solving skills to evaluate business and market problems and apply technology and domain knowledge to identify appropriate solutions
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Marketing, Business or equivalent experience
