Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) is Disney’s global, multiplatform media, product, technology, and distribution organization for world-class content. DMED is comprised of Disney’s international media and direct-to-consumer businesses globally, including all Disney networks outside of the US, as well as streaming services ESPN+, Disney+, Hulu, and forthcoming Star+. The D.A.T.A. organization focuses on providing innovative data solutions supporting DMED business stakeholders with comprehensive, timely, and reliable data and the means to access, activate and analyze all of Disney’s consumer data in a secure and compliant way.
Job Summary:
The Senior Product Manager, Data Platform Tools, will oversee data engineering tools used by development teams to build and operate complex data pipelines within the D.A.T.A. ecosystem. Product portfolio comprises of internally developed products and open source technologies that have been operationalized to meet the enterprise requirements. You will play a key role in the unification of our data engineering technology stack and building products that make our delivery teams highly efficient and productive.
This role will require you to work in an incredibly fast-paced and constantly changing environment. You will need an exceptional ability to navigate complex organizational structure and quickly develop relationships with stakeholders across a diverse set of functional roles. You will need the ability to quickly get up to speed on modern Cloud and BigData technologies and help to solve problems with creativity and technical skill.
Ideal candidate would have successful track record of product management in data platforms domain, result oriented mindset and empathy to product stakeholders.
Responsibilities :

  • Define the vision, strategy and roadmaps for data platform tools in close collaboration with other product managers, architects and engineering leads; Prioritize the work taking into account value identification, cost savings and progress against the broader business strategy
  • Work with stakeholders to develop product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and success metrics
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, demos, backlog grooming) as Product Owner
  • Partner with program management to oversee roadmap execution, identify delivery risks and resolve key blockers
  • Grow the user base by building strategic relationships, advocating and socializing the available offerings within D.A.T.A. group
  • Partner with engineering and program management to develop service level objectives and production support processes
  • Maintain customer-facing product documentation
  • Champion a collaborative work environment that cultivates shared understanding, transparency, autonomy, innovation, and continuous learning


Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of product, program or engineering management experience in data engineering, data platform or software domain
  • Familiarity with Apache Airflow, NiFi, Kafka and Hadoop/Spark ecosystems
  • Familiarity with public cloud technologies, preferably AWS – knowledge of service offerings and design patterns for data platforms
  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and deliver solutions in a sophisticated, always-changing environment with competing priorities
  • Experience with Agile frameworks and practices
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Data engineering, system analysis or software architecture background is a big plus
  • Familiarity with enterprise security practices and facilitating development with high regulation and oversite
  • CSPO, SAFe PM/PO, PMP, AWS certifications
