Department OverviewThe North America Portfolio Solution Strategy team is responsible for the portfolio strategy and the go to market deliverables for the products and solutions we sell in North America. This includes portfolio strategy and actions to 1) Strengthen and grow the core, 2) Expand into adjacent opportunities and 3) Drive strategic growth. In line with these key strategic thrusts we are organized into 5 main focus areas that closely align with our product development teams including infrastructure, devices, video, software and services. Our Unified Communications Portfolio Strategy position is a key focus area for our business and includes responsibility for our entire North America Unified Communications portfolio including our WAVE and Critical Connect solutions. The Unified Communications Portfolio Manager will lead the effort in gathering customer inputs, prioritizing development efforts and creating the core materials needed to equip our sales teams to successfully sell these new communications solutions.
Job Description
The Sr. Product Manager - Unified Communications (Remote) will be responsbile, but not limited to the following:
Identify and champion market research efforts to ensure value propositions that will exceed our customer expectations
Gather and analyze the voice of the customer and sales to develop product solution requirements
Lead voice of sales feedback throughout product development in order to ensure product alignment with sales objectives
Lead strategic initiatives to expand and grow the portfolio
Prioritize development efforts in line with business objectives and communicate with development teams
Define portfolio strategy that aligns and enables growth in both our government and enterprise businesses
Analyze business opportunities to grow the portfolio both organically and inorganically
Maintain and communicate product solution roadmaps
Develop the customer value proposition to positively differentiate our product in the market
Research and maintain a pulse on the competitive landscape and overall market trends to define market leading solutions
Build business cases that support the financial objectives for revenue, margin and operating earnings
Provide product management support during the development process helping to make trade offs involving features, schedule, cost, pricing, solution positioning, and lifecycle management
Work closely with product and marketing teams to ensure successful product launches and introductions
Ensure compelling training modules are developed for the internal sales organizations
Work in a cross-functional team with engineering, operations, finance, and marketing communications through the complete solution development cycle from product concept to end of life
Define and coordinate product beta testing plans in coordination with the product teams
Manage the New Product Introduction process for successful market penetration
Specific Knowledge & Skills
5+ years progressive experience in Product Planning, Product Marketing or Product Management
Bachelor's Degree required, MBA a plus
Strong business analytical skills
Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills
Proven track record of leading a team and meeting schedule deadlines
Ability to influence members external to their department
Ability to interface and communicate effectively with multi-discipline, cross-cultural teams
Strong working knowledge of the land mobile radio market and the transition to data centric software solutions
Basic Requirements
Bachelors Degree
5+ years experience in one of the following: Product Management, Sales or Marketing
