Merchant Knowledge is a critical team in the PayPal Shopping Platform org that owns Honey's "special sauce": the systems that build and manage integrations with merchants. The team aims to make integrations as easy as possible for our partners while enabling Honey's user-facing features, such as Find Savings (auto-couponing) and cash back offers.
Product Manager - Merchant Knowledge
Honey joined the PayPal family to help supercharge our mission of creating fairness and value for everyone, with much of the team based in Los Angeles. We're now a part of the PayPal Shopping org team, where we're using the collective insights of our millions of members to power the PayPal and Honey online shopping platforms that allows everyone to shop smarter, together. Product Management is at the center of the company's daily operations. Each Product Manager leads one or more mission teams that consist of engineers, product designers and analysts, and the team collectively collaborates on goals, north stars and the company-wide roadmap. We have a strong emphasis on aligned autonomy and a culture of collaboration and thus we expect every member of the team to have a strong sense of ownership, not just within their product domain, but for the overall success of the company and the trust of our users and partners. We are looking for Product Managers to help shape and scale a growing portfolio of products.

About the Role:
Merchant Knowledge is a critical team in the PayPal Shopping Platform org that owns Honey's "special sauce": the systems that build and manage integrations with merchants. What You'll Do:
As a Product Manager for the Merchant Knowledge team, you will:

  • Deeply understand our merchants and their data
  • Own the integration toolset, including balancing the ease-of-use for our merchants with the benefits for our users
  • Work closely with the Integrations team to understand their workflows and identify areas for strategic focus
  • Identify opportunities for optimization, including bringing in ML as needed
  • Measure potential upside for various projects and prioritize based on impact
  • Work closely with feature teams to understand their goals and requirements for merchant data
  • Explore merchant-side integration opportunities, and evaluate impact across the ecosystem
  • Research, incubate, and productize using software to create step-change improvements in our integration speed and quality
  • Ensure we are measuring the success and efficiency of our service


About You:

  • 3+ years of experience building and shipping backend technology products at scale
  • Technically adept, with a background in complex infrastructure products
  • Highly data-driven and can quickly formulate the right analytical framework for any merchant experience or product/platform health question
  • A natural, deep curiosity that drives you to learn, investigate, and constantly ask "why?"
  • Expert communication skills, including the ability to persuade and inspire, a knack for breaking down complex technical concepts, and a proactive attitude towards knowledge sharing
  • Boundless creativity when it comes to generating ideas, but an understanding that execution is what ultimately matters
  • Comfort with ambiguity, and an instinct for moving quickly
