The Platform team builds capabilities that unify products and ensure faster iteration for our teams, in order to support the delivery of digital experiences that improve health outcomes for consumers at a scale few other companies can match.
Join the Platform team as a Senior Product Manager that will lead a cross-functional squad in the building and innovation of an enterprise design system driving improved scalability, accessibility, UX, and cross-brand consistency throughout all digital experiences. You will report to the Director of Product and work with a wide array of partners, including design, engineering, and project management, garnering their perspectives throughout your roadmap creation and bringing them along to your product vision using OKRs, data, consumer insights, and design system community feedback.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Guide a design system roadmap through the product life cycle of strategy, OKR alignment, definition/requirements, delivery, and go-to-market
  • Oversee the development of your set of product features and determine which investments are most impactful to the business and why
  • Build enterprise partnerships and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive design system adoption and solve a myriad of complex problems in creative, thoughtful, and scalable ways
  • Establish and analyze important metrics of design system usage to help make product decisions
  • Develop and present strategic plans to enterprise stakeholders and executives
  • Manage a governance and contribution model in a large ecosystem of designers and engineers
  • Foster a healthy team culture based on open communication, support, and trust

Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of hands-on product management experience: working with designers and engineers to create great user experiences
  • Ability to discuss technical concepts, articulate tradeoffs, and propose new concepts to your team and partners
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills, which allow you to explain decisions based on new information, insights, and the point of view of various audiences
  • Technology experience: you don't need to code or draw an architecture diagram from scratch, but you do need to know and be able to explain, how your product works from a technology lens

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in building, using, and/or contributing to a design system
  • Experience in UX design and/or visual design
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Figma, Invision, etc.)
  • Healthcare background/interest

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $87,900 to $156,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
