Job Description:
As a Senior Digital Product Owner you will be responsible for gathering new customer connectivity feature requests, refining these requests, guiding them through the architecture, development and validation process and ensuring their timely delivery
This Senior Digital Product Owner position is with the Connectivity team inside the CAT Digital organization which has enterprise accountability for connectivity product line strategy definition, implementation, quality, and cost.
JOB DUTIES:

  • Responsible for gathering customer connectivity feature requests.
  • Includes refining request to understand who requested, why requested, funding status, business case, funding status, functional requirement, acceptance criteria, expected timelines, dependencies and relative priority.
  • Will require interfacing with customers including Construction Industries, Resource Industries , Energy & Transportation and aftermarket.
  • Overseeing and ensuring the timely delivery of connectivity features through collaboration with development partners in both IC&S and Cat Digital. This entails sheparding feature through architectural assessment, engineering forecasting, release commitment, validation and delivery.
  • Oversight includes taking feature request through Cat Digital demand intake process.
  • Communicate the status of feature requests to stakeholders and customers.
  • Assist in creating, prioritizing and maintaining the connectivity feature request backlog.
  • Participate in prioritization and technical review meetings.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information systems or related field
  • 3+ years of commensurate experience and history of progressive project leadership responsibility
  • Strong accountability, planning/organization, and teamwork
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills


Top Candidates Will Also Have

  • Knowledge and experience with telematics/connectivity space
  • Understanding of Caterpillar connectivity end-to-end architecture (onboard to offboard)
  • Understanding of Caterpillar development and validation process for both onboard and offboard feature development
  • Experience managing projects and feature delivery with Azure DevOps
  • Requirements gathering and documentation experience with customers
  • Knowledge of datalinks such as CAN
