The Opportunity

Ally Lending is a high-growth, technology-based point-of-sale lending unit within Ally Financial. This position at Ally Lending plays the vital role of connecting our product vision and roadmap with execution - bringing the roadmap and vision to life thro ugh business analysis, deriving requirements, detailing tactical work, and partnering with execution teams to see initiatives through to delivery. The Sr Analyst - Product Management will support the discovery and delivery of capabilities and experiences that enhance client and borrower experiences, drive profitable growth, and actively manage risk.

The Work Itself

  • Research business problems, industry best-practices, and competitor landscape
  • Formulate problem statements and provide a customer-centric, analytical lens on solution design
  • Analyze merchant and consumer workflows; provide recommendations to improve product offerings
  • Collaborate with business, operations, and technology stakeholders to examine solution paths for interference or opportunities
  • Prepare solutions for capacity-based planning, prioritization, and implementation

  • Strong business and financial acumen; experience working with data analysis and discovery
  • Exposure to and understanding of the financing, lending, and banking industry
  • Highly collaborative, with ability to influence others with emotional intelligence
  • Experience working in an agile environment, with teams building user-facing software applications
  • Demonstrable technical acumen; baseline knowledge of how software systems & application components work together; ability to navigate technology, architectural and software development considerations at a high-level
  • Strong communication and partnership skills; ability to collaborate through complex problems with a diverse team across departments, organizational levels, and with external partners
  • Ability to challenge assumptions and give and receive feedback respectfully
  • Ability to estimate work, commit & deliver on deadlines, and be vocal when risks arise
  • Ability to leverage technical expertise and relationships to contribute to strategy and drive business results

  • Education/Experience

    • 1-3 years of experience as a business analyst, product owner, or product manager for a digital product
    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Experience with modern web services and APIs is preferred
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products
    • Experience with application lifecycle management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
    • Spoken and Written English required; Written and spoken Spanish a plus
