Description
This is a Hybrid Position which does not require you to be on-site full-time. This role enables you to work at a GM facility as required and off-site as needed
GM is undergoing a major transformation, both in how we operate and in how we will influence the future of transportation. Our Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) team is on the forefront of this work, emboldening our culture by seeking out determined, innovative individuals who will join our team to help move us forward and achieve our mission.
Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) group supports the definition, design, and development of continuously improving mobility services. SDV is new vehicle intelligence platform that will underpin all our future innovations across a wide range of technological advancements, including EVs and expanded automated driving. This means that you can potentially put a fingerprint on the vehicles that drive down the road! This space is ripe with technical leadership opportunities for advanced technology development, as well as the ability to provide mentorship for new employees. You can flex your teamwork muscles as you will be tasked with working with several other areas of engineering, IT, and the business.
We are looking for a high-performing individuals to support SDV. As we expand our core software competency in our newly aligned organization, we are placing an increased value on the Product Owner responsibilities.
The Product Owner is responsible for defining and supporting the building of desirable, feasible, viable, and sustainable products that meet customer needs over the product-market lifecycle. This role is driven by a customer centric mindset and utilized design thinking to guide their decisions. Responsible for maintaining the Scrum's alignment with ART backlog.
Responsibilities Include but not limited:
  • Collaborate with the Program Management Team to refine the Program Vision, Roadmap and Program Backlog
  • Collaborate with System Architect to determine Enablers and coordinate Enabler Rollout
  • Coordinate dependencies with other Product Owners when deliverables are dependent on other Teams for completion, attending PO synchronizations as needed
  • Refine, maintain and prioritize the Team Backlog
  • Coordinate with Scrum Team Leader to ascertain Team capacity
  • Translate product and feature strategy into User Stories, assisting Scrum Team with Story definition, estimation and sequencing for Program Increment Planning events
  • Work day-to-day with the Scrum Teams clarifying requirements, constantly communicating and gaining alignment around Feature or Product Strategy
  • Provide clearly defined acceptance criteria
  • Provide guidance for System Demonstration Strategy during Story creation (unit, integration and system level test strategy)
  • Verify Stories are testable and can be used to generate testing objectives
  • Ensure validation and testing of features occurs prior to End User Acceptance
  • Ensure the technical integrity of the product is maintained and enable the solution to address program priorities (Features and Enablers), thoroughly addressing anomalies and other quality concerns in a timely manner
  • Accept each story and participate in Team Demonstrations and Retrospectives to validate quality, providing feedback to team and improving team processes
  • Validate that Stories meet their pre-determined acceptance criteria, have appropriate, persistent Acceptance tests, and otherwise comply with Definition of Done (DoD)
  • Participate in the following Team and Program Events: Program Increment Planning, Iteration Retrospectives, ART Inspection and Adapt sessions, PO/ART Synchronizations
  • Provide guidance and coaching to Scrum Team members
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Additional Description
Minimum Skills and Experience Required:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience with proven technical and professional skills in job-related area required
  • Ability to set and balance priorities efficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with complete autonomy and accountability for results
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed
  • Strong partnership and teamwork skills, with demonstrated ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, take initiative/self-directed
  • Evidence of strong character with integrity, honesty, accountability, and trust
  • Consistent demonstration of innovative thinking that is customer-centric

Preferred Skill and Experience :
  • Master's degree in a related technical field
  • Experience in Android development
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification
  • Experience with GIT/source code management, open-source SW development/contributor
  • Experience with edge, cloud, IoT technologies, virtualization technologies, containerization/container development
