The Enterprise CTO organization, a division of Optum Technology, is responsible for defining the enterprise technology strategy in alignment with the United Health Group (UHG) vision, mission, and strategy. This team innovates technology transformation across the UHG enterprise to improve healthcare. The Enterprise CTO is uniquely positioned to help solve challenging problems that face our healthcare system today. By serving the whole of UHG, the ECTO is uniquely positioned to leverage technology to serve complex problems challenging many of our consumers and internal lines of business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting vision and translating it into requirements for engineering teams; Creating and managing roadmaps along with backlog
  • Pro-actively identifying needs/priorities of audience and providing relevant information when sharing insights, including facts and explanation of decision-making criteria
  • Working with the engineering team on daily basis to remove any blockers and answer requirement related questions
  • Observing user interactions with product; Dialogues with stakeholders on implications and modifications; Accurately representing customer needs with internal stakeholders; and in related plans
  • Gathering and analyzing user and client feedback on our products (complaints, feedback, user panels, UAT, etc.)
  • Gathering and publishing metrics that assess product usage and health
  • Driving innovation into our product portfolio in collaboration with business, operational and technology leaders by identifying opportunities to use emerging technologies
  • Helping build a strong product competency in the organization

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of product management experience
  • 3+ years of experience working in an agile or scaled agile development environment
  • Experience with software development concepts and comfortable reading and interpreting technical documentation and working with developers, solution architects and other technical staff
  • Facing out to internal and external customers and users and all levels
  • Experience presenting to medium sized groups


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Health Administration, or related field
  • Demonstrable experience with product management tools like AHA!, Rally, etc.
  • Identity Access Management experience
  • Agile product manager or agile leader certification
  • Awareness of emerging technologies in cloud storage and API domain
  • Experience working in API software product development
  • Architecture or other technical experience

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado/Connecticut/Nevada/New York City residents is $113,500 to $218,100.
