We are currently seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager, Personalization Experience & Customer Data Platforms. As a Senior Product Manager, Technical, you will own the roadmap for our Discovery and Engagement team. Today, our segmentation tools and systems are homegrown, leveraging in-house data warehousing and reporting, as well as numerous integrations across our various enterprise systems. We are onboarding best-in-class data science, customer data, and messaging systems to power more personal experiences.


About the Role

Grove’s Personalization team is responsible for the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of the systems that enable Grove to provide relevant product recommendations, communications, and experiences. The primary goal of the team is to connect customer interests with products that Grove offers, making our suggestions more relevant with each order. You will innovate directly on behalf of customers using our data to deliver a better customer experience. 

YOUR ROLE & IMPACT:

  • You’ll drive the strategic product vision for algorithms and personalization at Grove
  • You’ll own the 3rd party and internal solutions for Personalization and Marketing Data
  • You’ll translate customer and internal-user needs into clear, well-defined functional and technical requirements backed by data analysis
  • You’ll author and deliver a product roadmap that impacts key OKRs
  • You’ll own the team's products from ideation through launch, scale, and maintenance
  • You’ll work closely with our Product, Marketing, and Merchandising partners to understand their needs as our business scales, driving the path forward on personalized customer communication and experience
  • You’ll partner with Product Managers across the company to guide algorithms and recommendation systems for services like product search and triggered communications
  • You will establish business cases and projected return on investment to identify and prioritize opportunities

ABOUT YOU:

  • 7+ years of product management experience
  • You have 3+ years of experience working with algorithms and data or similar space
  • You have an undergraduate or graduate technical degree in computer science, data science/engineering, or information systems (or equivalent direct experience building algorithms, data platforms, or personalization systems) You have experience proposing, building, and launching consumer-facing experiences to millions of customers. You have optimized existing experiences to resolve customer pain points and business goals. You have invented or integrated new production systems
  • You have experience in effectively working with multiple teams for collaboration and company-wide project delivery
  • You have significant professional experience performing quantitative data analysis including statistics, and data retrieval (SQL) You’re an expert with data analysis, with bonus points for advanced tools (Python, R, etc.) that can handle larger datasets
  • You are an exceptional communicator to technical and non-technical audiences and are influential in written and verbal formats
  • You’re capable of creating partnerships both inside and outside of the Product organization
  • You have practiced agile development and are skilled at composing clear requirements for maker teams of engineers, data scientists, and business analysts
  • You have the ability to handle ambiguity, complexity, and interdependencies in an organized and structured way
  • Ideally, you have experience working with and cultivating seasoned systems and business operations practices; you have led build vs buy processes, integrated third-party systems, and build customer-facing use cases on top of them.
