Optum Clinical Manager (OCM) is a strategic, enterprise clinical platform across UHC and Optum that leverages shared technology and services. As an integrated, cloud native, scalable technology platform, OCM delivers seamless end-to-end clinical solutions that are configurable, resilient, and quick to build while reducing overall enterprise technology costs. It supports a multi-payer, multi-tenant model, enabling care management, utilization management and digital capabilities.
In this role as Sr. Product Manager, you will lead a cross-functional squad in the building and innovation of an enterprise design system driving improved scalability, accessibility, UX, and consistency throughout various digital experiences.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Guide a design system roadmap through the product life cycle of strategy, OKR alignment, definition/requirements, delivery, and go-to-market
  • Build enterprise partnerships and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive design system adoption and solve a myriad of complex problems in creative, thoughtful, and scalable ways
  • Establish and analyze important metrics of design system usage to help make product decisions
  • Manage a governance and contribution model in a large ecosystem of designers and engineers
  • Leverage market insights to understand market/customer needs and identify new opportunities or adjust to current product offerings
  • Maintain the product backlog and prioritization process across varying levels of engaged customers, initiatives, and timelines
  • Engage with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership to ensure buy-in of priorities and maximize overall value of product
  • Deliver content to communicate product features, benefits, and value
  • Define and tracks product metrics to measure success/outcome and supports managing the product roadmap

Required Qualifications:

  • Will consider equivalent experience in lieu of undergraduate degree
  • 5+ years of experience translating business needs into user stories, personas, features, and requirements
  • 2+ years of hands-on product management experience: working with designers and engineers to create great user experiences
  • 5+ years of experience driving product lifecycle, strategy, and roadmap
  • 5+ years of experience Agile development methodology


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Healthcare Industry experience
  • Experience partnering with UI design and/or user experience teams
  • Experience with product management tools (ie: similar to Aha!, Rally, etc.)
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Figma, Invision, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills, which allow you to explain decisions based on new information, insights, and the point of view of various audiences

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
