Crunchyroll COVID-19 Hiring Status

We’re responsible for making sure the products we ship provide innovative solutions to our 5million+ subscribers / anime fans. About The Role:

Crunchyroll’s video platform is the heart of the streaming experience we bring to our fans. The Senior Technical Product Manager for Video Platform is responsible for overseeing the management of the video platform and continually evolving the platform in order to deliver the best video experience to our fans.

As the product manager, you will own the video platform and will be responsible for defining the product vision, planning the product roadmap, and working with the team to execute from ideation to scale. 

About You:

• 3-5 years experience in product management in one or more aspects of VOD media streaming
• A strong high-level technical understanding of all aspects of streaming media, including ABR protocols, encoding and packaging, DRM,SSAI,HDR etc.
• Deep understanding of the video quality of service, have a data driven approach towards improving the playback experience
• Ability to write detailed user stories and work with technical design team to ensure requirements are well mapped out
• Ability to articulate and present detailed product deliverables on key initiatives to executives and stakeholders
• Ability to work with engineering teams to shepherd features from concept to launch, made tradeoffs to remove roadblocks, and evaluated innovative ideas
• Experience working with API / service endpoints and their interactions with apps 
• A team player focussed on collaboration and partnership

Pluses:

• Passionate about Anime or streaming media at large
• Technical familiarity with player integration mechanics for any of the following - AV Player, ExoPlayer and Shaka
