Your Opportunity

Are you passionate about enabling engineers to do their best work and develop and deploy secure software? Do you envision a new approach to application security, one where security and product engineers enjoy working with and learning from one another? We are looking for an experienced Security Product Manager to join us and help us build and scale our Security Assurance program.

What You'll Do

You're the nexus of product development and security engineering in the New Relic Product Security Assurance team. You will:
  • Collaborate with software engineers to understand their challenges with secure software development and delivery and identify systemic improvement opportunities
  • Translate engineers' needs into the creation and modification of services our Security Engineers provide to them to enable their work
  • Develop, optimize, and manage processes that allow us to rapidly engage with teams at different stages in the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Define and track important metrics that indicate if we are achieving our security and internal customer satisfaction goals
  • Define controls we can implement to provide assurance that our software is worthy of our customers' trust
In the future, some travel will be required (up to 10%).

Your Qualifications

Must-have:
  • 5+ years experience in product management, program or project management, security assessment, application security, DevSecOps, security engineering, or software development
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex things in a simple manner to many different audiences in a variety of mediums
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated technical orientation
  • Great teammate, but has the ability to lead projects independently with little guidance
  • Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills, including data analysis and process development
Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with DevSecOps or Application Security principles, capabilities, tooling, and metrics
  • Experience within the software development lifecycle or direct collaboration with software engineers
  • Experience chartering, scoping, and leading projects
  • Experience creating, analyzing, and refining processes
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic partnerships across multiple teams within an organization
  • Confidence in navigating ambiguity and identifying innovative customer solutions with minimal direction.
  • Experience with product management tools (road mapping, project management, Jira, etc.)
  • Experience generating and analyzing metrics with QuickSight, Tableau, PowerBI, or similar analysis software to measure service and program effectiveness and consistency.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or an equivalent
