As a member of the Sales and Contract Management Innovative Assessment team, the Sr. Product Manager works closely across functional groups, sales, program management, marketing, and proposals to manage product development from launch to implementation. The Sr. Product Manager has deep knowledge and expertise in the development of K-12 assessment products and is responsible for fulfilling the overall product vision and theory of action to ensure that the product meets the needs of stakeholders. The Sr. Product Manager plays a key role in executing on the School Assessment product strategy.

Overall Responsibility

  • The Sr. Product Manager creates and manages a detailed product roadmap and schedule for all aspects of the product including content development, psychometric analyses, software development, and implementation support.
  • The Sr. Solution Product Manager collaborates across functional groups to ensure that the specific goals of the product are well understood and executed on, and any known gaps are clearly documented and communicated.
  • Additionally, the Sr. Product Manager coordinates with the broader Innovative Assessment Solutions team to succinctly translate current and planned product capabilities into solutions that meet client needs, as well as collect client feedback and evidence that will inform future enhancements.


Specific Responsibilities

  • With the guidance of the Solution Owner, clearly state the product vision, hypothesized value to students, educators, and families, key features, and design principles.
  • Create product roadmap that is transparent to all levels of the School Assessment organization.
  • Create and manage product development schedule(s) and offer solutions when deliverables are at risk.
  • With the Solution Owner, develop the overall product plan including deliverables, milestone dates, and resource needs. Update plan in real-time, as needed, and communicate to all internal stakeholders.
  • Manage both the specific product and the integration of the product into the larger portfolio.
  • In collaboration with Sales and Contract Management, the Director of Educator Engagement, and the Assessment Innovation team, validate features of the product through the systemic collection of evidence from users.
  • Serve as a voice of the customer, based on evidence, with internal stakeholders.
  • Support the creation of business cases for required investment on product, including collecting costs.
  • Work with Marketing and Proposals to ensure that product collateral and documentation is accurate.
  • Support Sales and Contract Management with product value proposition and implementation training that is client-specific.
  • Collects and manages key performance indicators such as revenue, customer satisfaction, etc.
  • Prepare and manage implementation and training supports for successful product use, including guides, videos, and videos, both internally and client-facing.
  • Plan and manage customer support.


Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • 5 years product management/development required
  • 3+ years developing K-12 academic assessment products required
  • Experience using project and product management software preferred

As required by theColorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Pearson provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only , the range of starting pay for this role is $100,000 - $125,000. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program, and information on benefits offered is here.
