So, what’s the role?
We are looking for ambitious Senior Product Managers to join our team. As a Senior Product Manager, you will immerse yourself in both our customer experience and internal stakeholder’s experience (sales, customer service, underwriting, claims, accounting). You will have a deep understanding of how customers buy and manage their insurance policy, as well as how Kin provides customers with services and support for their insurance needs. You will be identifying opportunities to improve all aspects of the customer journey. You will partner with stakeholder and technology colleagues to research, validate, and present your proposals, then execute on those approved and prioritized.
Your objective in this role is to lead projects from strategy and ideation through scaling the product successfully with autonomy. You will develop a solid understanding of Kin’s business, our customers, and our operations. You will expand your product management skills into more strategic planning and execution by defining the product vision with Product Directors and Kin leaders while managing and mentoring Product Analysts and Product Managers. Your success and career growth will hinge on your ability to build effective working relationships with your Kin colleagues and your internal stakeholder team in order to identify areas to improve our business, products, and processes. Your ability to solve problems as well as lead the team will be paramount to the success of your products as well as the optimization of your team’s performance.
A day in the life could include:
- Working closely with Product Directors and Kin leaders to define and communicate the Product vision
- Assist Product Directors in defining the domain’s long term product strategy, balancing the business needs, regulatory hurdles, and technical constraints
- Leading and mentoring Product Managers and Product Analysts
- Initiating and implementing process improvements for product development
- Identifying and resolving issues that hinder the team’s ability to meet OKRs
- Digging deep to understand the most significant problems that face our users and working with design and engineering to develop and test solutions, supported with data
- Creating and overseeing product roadmaps that address the biggest needs in our business and meaningfully impact our OKRs, while delighting our customers and other end users
- Partnering closely with the development team to share your product plans, size potential technical work, and identify improvements through collaboration
- Defining, evangelizing, and monitoring metrics that demonstrate product success
- Coordinating and leading regular team and stakeholder meetings to both gather feedback on your projects and to share important updates
- Ensuring the successful rollout, growth, and success of your features, with communications and training to appropriate users/stakeholders across the business
I’ve got the skills… but do I have the necessary ones?
- 5+ years of professional experience
- 4+ years of software or technology product management experience
- 2-3 years of experience coaching people and leading teams
- Extensive experience working with agile product and engineering teams in startup and/or rapid-growth environments
- Demonstrated success in defining the product strategy and developing innovative products
- Expertise in working with big data and BI tools (ex. Adobe, Tableau, Looker)

- Strong strategic thinking and decision-making
- Ability to turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into concrete action plans
- Research and data analysis; able to self-serve on a majority of requests
- Technical proficiency; deep understanding of tradeoffs between different technical approaches and the ability to explain those to leadership and other stakeholders
- Ability to create cost / benefit analyses for both large and small scale projects, and use the outputs to guide product and feature prioritization
- Effective and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient project management skills and well organized

- Able to communicate with empathy and precision

- MarTech or A/B testing and other experimentation experience
