We are looking for an experienced and passionate product leader to join our Product Management team in Watertown, MA. This Senior Product Manager will drive the vision and product definition for our Desktop Composite lineup of printers and materials.  Desktop Composite is where Markforged got its start, with the Mark One, and it remains the highest volume segment of our lineup by delivering transformative value for engineers and manufacturers around the world.  The right candidate will combine their expertise in developing amazing hardware product experiences with a passion for reinventing manufacturing to take Markforged from 10,000 facilities to 100,000 over the next five years.

What will you own?

  • Become an expert on our users, their needs, and their engagement with our printers through qualitative (e.g. interviews) and quantitative (querying data) research
  • Develop deep knowledge of the market and competitive landscape as well as emerging technology trends that are relevant to our products
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with stakeholders in all parts of the business to understand and incorporate factors important to them in the overall solution space
  • Write clear and concise product requirements that capture the vision, goals, and key elements of new products and features based on insights that intersect customer, technology, and business
  • Partner collaboratively with Engineering throughout development to ensure alignment on priorities, provide context, and make tradeoff decisions whenever needed
  • Communicate a clear and compelling product vision to other parts of the business, including Operations, Marketing, Sales, Support, etc. that facilitates strategic alignment and allows Markforged to deliver a best-in-class holistic user experience

Important Note:

Although we list out what we generally look for, we are very likely missing other attributes and skills that you have that could make you a great fit, but are not currently listed. Research has shown this especially applies to women and other marginalized groups, who tend to apply if they check 100% of every box, versus men who apply if they hit roughly 60%. The point we’re getting at, it doesn’t hurt to take a chance and apply!

What you have:

  • 7+ years developing hardware products, including 3+ years as a Product Manager
  • Track record of successfully launching new consumer products and features
  • Demonstrated passion for the product and ownership over outcomes
  • Analytical and data-driven approach to decision making
  • Ability to establish credibility and lead through influence up, down, and across
  • Comfort in a fast-paced environment with a bias towards action
  • Bachelors or higher in an engineering or materials field; MBA preferred
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus
