Senior Product Manager

Responsibilities
We are seeking a director of product management / senior product manager to join our product team to manage our SaaS data recovery capabilities. You will be building out new products to provide data protection capabilities for SaaS used by enterprise IT teams. You will develop the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Ownbackup’s API capabilities, you will be communicating both the business value and technical rationale of your recommendations. You will work with our existing Product and Engineering teams on common components but will also lead the MVP and backlog of the new product from start to finish and with a dedicated engineering team. Tasks will include engaging with customers, discovering the problem space, gathering requirements, writing specs, managing backlog, working with the engineers, doing acceptance testing, documenting for the customer and working with marketing and sales on go-to-market strategies and pricing. You will be expected to own the roadmap for your product(s), and to work with the head of product on building the company’s overall product roadmap. You will be responsible for building a close working relationship with industry and technology partners.
Requirements
- BA or BS from an accredited university
- At least 3 years of leading a product management team, including working with customers, prospects, pre- and post-sales teams, marketing and engineering organizations.
- Strong communications skills and a knowledge of when and how to have conversations that focus on the details and when to present a strategic view.
- Experience managing technical SaaS products, building a vision for them and engaging deeply with engineering counterparts on detailed requirements.
- At least 4 years working with Agile and Lean product development methodologies and adapting them to different team sizes / types.
- Proven experience using data to guide product decisions and direction, demonstrated ability to build a product from the ground up.
- Capable of leveraging competitor analysis to identify opportunities, prioritize product strategy and roadmap accordingly.
- At least 3 years of experience developing APIs, integration solutions and web services.
- Experience or familiarity with the public cloud solutions AWS, Azure and GCP.
- Experience or familiarity with enterprise IT processes such as ITIL, COBIT, ITSM, SCRUM
- Experience or familiarity with enterprise SaaS such as Salesforce, MS Dynamics CRM, ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence, Okta, Slack
- Direct experience building products in the infrastructure software space.
- Meaningful time working in a technical role as part of a development group.
Important Details
This is a full-time position. The ideal candidate will work out of our New Jersey office to maximize collaboration and interaction with the business.
