What You'll Do
You will be responsible for identifying, enhancing and maintaining digital solutions that create efficiencies and value for the lines of defense within the risk practice.
In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders and users to understand the needs across the risk functions. You will become a trusted ally and thought partner to the risk community within the Technology & Digital (T&D) risk group. You will play an influential role in the risk group and will help drive the adoption of modern solutions in collaboration with groups and chapters across the T&D team and the broader firm.
As a product manager, you will play a lead role in setting a shared vision, understanding value, and prioritizing work for the team. To do that well, you will develop a deep understanding of the problems you are solving, the users and the risk solution space. In partnership with key stakeholders and your squad, set ambitious and clear goals that will deliver high-quality user experiences and outcomes.
With your team, you will focus on understanding your customer and will devise ways to experiment and test innovative ideas in a rapid and reliable fashion. You will ensure your product has a customer-driven design, considering market and technology opportunities as well as user pain points and will ensure regular, direct interaction of the whole team with the user community to empathize with their needs.
To help you and your team get to outcomes that matter, you will get expert support from service functions (e.g., analytics, communications, training). Additionally, you will be part of a product management chapter where you will have ample opportunity to grow your skills and further the craft of product management.
Who You'll Work With
You will join McKinsey's Technology & Digital (T&D) organization in our office in Atlanta or Waltham, as a core member of both the Product Management function and as part of a group committed to solving problems for people using technology. Our product managers work closely in teams alongside experts in various disciplines - designers, engineers, more - and together they relentlessly strive to deliver outcomes that matter to people.
You and your team will work together to discover opportunities, experiment, test and learn, and deliver solutions using our own mix of methodologies, including design thinking to help us understand people's needs, wants, and problems; lean methodologies to experiment fast and learn a lot; and agile approaches to reduce uncertainty by working in short dev cycles and pausing to reflect and adapt.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with excellent academic record; advanced degree preferred)
  • 5 years of product development experience in agile environments
  • Experience working with service organizations and/or IT support or experience with omnichannel efforts
  • Proven record of managing complex work, involving various work streams, with cross-functional teams
  • Strong expertise in driving alignment in a non-hierarchical environment
  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) that reflect structured, clear, and objective thinking
  • Strong business acumen to thought partner with business teams
  • Sufficient technical depth to comfortably engage in problem solving with technical members
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with an ability to navigate ambiguity
