Senior Product Manager

The Senior Product Manager will:Responsible for strategy and profitability of the Hardware Controllers & Enterprise Software product family for the Electrification Power Conversion (ELPC) division. Own end to end portfolio offerings including voice of customer, defining product platform requirements, and guiding investments that lead to differentiated hardware and software products thatdeliver maximum customer value.Work with Customers, Partners, System Engineers to assess and translate opportunities to scalable, enterprise solutions. Involved in long-term planning and strategy, manage complex issues within development of new products and providing life cycle management of legacy products, and contribute to the overall business results. Position reports to ELPC Product Leader in EL Power Conversion and will be in Plano, Texas with a hybrid work schedule, subject to business approval
Your responsibilities

  • As the Senior Product Manager for the power plant controllers and software platform, you will:
  • Gather and evaluate voice of customer, competitive landscape, product portfolio performance, and other market information to make decisions on multi-generational product roadmaps, product pricing, promotion, and life- cycle management
  • Visit and collaborate with customers, sales team, segment leaders, and other product managers to understand Voice of customer, support growth accounts and initiatives
  • Establish product strategy to align with business segment growth goals by reviewing product recommendation, business cases, detailed VOC, and go-to-market execution plans
  • Demonstrate responsibility for providing commercial context for product strategy including reconciling customer, sales, and internal feedback
  • Present high-risk projects to leadership and project management for discussion and approval prior to quotation
  • Communicate critical business opportunities, achievements, losses, and impact to business leadership on an ongoing basis
  • Track and report specific business metrics as established by leadership
  • Establish and control margin trends through pricing, cost reviews, new product launches and volume planning
  • Coordinate creation of external marketing & internal training communicating new-product value proposition & competitive strategies to win in larger marketplace
  • Work with R&D to define, review, approve and escalate critical RFQs
  • Work with Project Management team assuring clear hand-off of new projects to execution team

Your background

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, technology or management from an accredited university or college
  • 10 years of experience with in-depth exposure to hardware & software systems developed for enterprise level IoT applications
  • 5 years product-line experience
  • In-depth understanding of cloud software, IoT applications, automation applications
  • Knowledge and experience of working with real time sensing or controlling equipment
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies
  • Willingness and ability to travel 20% of the time
  • Desired Characteristics
  • Experience developing hardware & software systems with an emphasis on intelligent device management.
  • Cloud experience
  • Experience with hardware & software systems developed for enterprise level IoT applications in the DC space
  • Domain knowledge in network and asset management in the Telecom, 5G Wireless, Data Center, and Industrial systems space
  • Results oriented with ability to deliver on commitments and follow through
  • Strong collaborative leadership style, analytical skills with creativity & innovation
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment working on new and emerging technologies
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to help build effective processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong business analysis, problem solving and strategy development skills
  • Ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong negotiation skills
