About the Role
"Get it delivered in the time it takes to get there" - a fast, convenient option where packages are handled with care. In the long run, the goal is to capture a growing market for same-day delivery by solving for convenience, speed, tracking, and safety pain points with traditional delivery services. For users, it provides a way to send packages, gifts, homemade treats, run errands, etc. to their friends & loved ones, and even provides small businesses with the opportunities to send products to their customers. Additionally, for driver-partners, Connect provides more earning opportunities & contact-free ones during COVID times, given the increased need for social distancing.
In this role, you will own creating and driving the product roadmap for Connect - Driver side & Marketplace. This includes the driver + courier side experience for Connect - and ensuring our supply experience scales across different marketplace archetypes. The team is a very central component with lots of cross-functional & technical engagement. As part of the Connect team, you'll have an immediate impact on the bottom line of Uber's business.
What the Candidate Will Do:
Aligned with the broader Verticals & Delivery business unit efforts, you'll:
• Bring a true passion for helping the team build the best product experience that enables our supply-partners to provide the best first-class experience to Win C2C Delivery Space and SMBs• Be responsible for a product roadmap and lead vision, execution, and definition of new features that will be used to collect data & build the best product experience• Take broad, conceptual ideas & work closely with Design and Engineering to make them a reality.• Thrive in an environment of fast feedback loops and an approach of rapid prototyping and iteration.• Working closely with Data Science, Driver/Courier, Marketplace counterparts to ensure that our components (e.g. fares classification structure) and experiences (e.g. batching) scale across various marketplace archetypes• Collaborate with Uber's internal partners, including product managers, engineering, data science, business development, local city teams, and global operations teams to ensure that our products support Connect's business objectives, globally.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 4 years of Product Management experience or equivalent experience• Experience using data to build an insightful story and make decisions with little guidance.• Both a passion for user experience and system design, as well as a strategic outlook in how our products align with our business scenarios
Preferred Qualifications:
• A love for formulating product vision leveraging user research and metrics, getting buy-in from key partners across the organization, and breaking down a vision into a tangible roadmap• Strong data-driven prioritization skills - you understand the concepts required when building products and how to work with the business on prioritization• Strong communication and partnership skills- this will be an extremely cross-functional role, with partner teams spanning multiple offices globally.• Deep passion for delivery and familiarity with package delivery space
