We are looking for an experienced Risk Product Manager who is obsessive about proactively identifying and squashing fraud and financial risk to the business. Greenlight provides a variety of financial services to families and our partners including payments and other funds-movement functionality. Our ability to identify and block bad actors and illicit activity is crucial to keep our families safe and the bad guys out. 


 In this role, you will define the strategic roadmap for one or more risk platform services that form the core risk decision engine for Greenlight. You will work closely with your peers in Risk as well as product, engineering, design, operations, and data science teams to detect and prevent fraudsters from exploiting the system, while advocating for legitimate customers that get falsely trapped. You will identify, assess, and mitigate risk using a unified, data-driven approach that leverages big data, machine learning and complex fraud detection algorithms. In addition, you will enable our Risk group to perform risk assessment, issue management, and many other processes that cannot be automated and require manual intervention.

What you will be doing:

  • Be the accountable product manager for definition, delivery, and ongoing investment of one or more risk platform services and risk servicing tools
  • Developing innovative ways to detect fraud, leveraging industry partnerships, and staying several steps ahead of the fraudsters
  • Delivering great experiences for Greenlight customers and Risk organization teammates while minimizing financial loss to the business
  • Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to define, prioritize, and advocate for investment in the risk platform services strategy
  • Working across the organization to understand and document technology and data needs and working with technology teams to implement solutions
  • Communicating progress, value delivered, and lessons learned to the wider business, including executive leadership

What you should bring:

  • 5+ years of technical product management experience in a risk or compliance domain, preferably in a high volume consumer payments organization
  • Bachelor’s degree and knowledge of the financial services compliance or regulatory environment
  • Direct, hands-on experience with development, deployment and configuration of fraud strategies and services within a financial services domain
  • An ability to proactively address emerging threats and anticipate solutions by thinking out of the box and acting quickly
  • Familiarity with AI/ML methodologies, and ability to work collaboratively with Data Science and Risk experts to define outstanding solutions
  • A systems thinking mindset and ability to decompose complex systems into base, reusable concepts that serve customer needs
  • A high EQ and proven ability to lead through trust and influence across a wide variety of stakeholders and levels
  • A passion for developing great user experiences to help users manage risk
  • A strong product sense, including the ability to make decisions in the face of ambiguity, while leaning heavily on a data-driven, analytical methodologies
  • A goal-oriented, growth mindset that seeks accountability and a desire to learn from mistakes
  • An understanding of the value of diversity and seeking different perspectives to synthesize the best possible solution
  • Superb written and verbal storytelling skills with a strong presence
  • A sense of humor and desire to create a positive, mutually fulfilling, inclusive work environment.
