About You:
In this role, you will own the strategy, roadmap and execution for Convoy’s cost forecasting systems. Accurate cost forecasting is foundational to Convoy’s entire business, as it powers how we price and manage risk for every shipment in our marketplace. You will work closely with research scientists, data scientists and engineers to deliver world class cost forecasting systems that respond seamlessly to changing market conditions, shipper-specific nuances and varying freight characteristics. You will also partner with marketplace growth, sales, account management, carrier and other product teams to understand market and customer nuances, deliver outstanding business performance and create a platform for other teams to build on.
You Will:
- Strategy: Own the product strategy and roadmap for constantly improving cost forecasting
- Execution: You will be accountable for the accuracy and responsiveness of our cost forecast systems across all truck and freight types and extension of forecasting capabilities to accommodate new business use cases
- Cross functional partnership: Partner with marketplace growth, sales, account management, carrier and other product teams to understand market and customer nuances, deliver outstanding business performance and extend a platform for other teams to build on top
- Metrics & Experimentation: Define the goals for experiments and inform experimental design and measurement
- Optimization: Work closely with research and data scientists to optimize models and systems
We’re looking for someone who has:
- 5+ years of proven success in Product Management
- Experience working with science and engineering teams
- High degree of statistical literacy and ability to think quantitatively
- Track record of leadership and influence without authority across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to synthesize data into articulate strategies & tactics
Nice to haves:
- Experience in forecasting, pricing, trading, risk-management or a related field
- Proficiency in SQL - ability to pull data and complete analysis on your own
- Experience working on a marketplace product
- Experience in high growth environments
